You're time might be more efficiently spent lobbying the Trump administration to abolish the BATFE and roll back all those FFL licensing restrictions enacted in the past 20 years. Seems like a similar likelihood of success in either case...

The local ATF rep will ensure that you are following local and State ordinances, this may include zoning rules and regs.  If you are leasing or renting space that meets guidelines, they can go as far as contacting the property owner to ensure that the owner approves of this type of business.
