It didn't "crossover" to the senate so it's dead.  Technically it could be kept alive for this year, but those are astronomical odds.  Could be resurrected next year.

The problems posed by the physics of getting to the moon pale in comparison to overcoming the problems of exercising our right to keep and bear arms in this statist hellhole.

It "only" took 8 years after Kennedy proposed the Appollo manned lunar landings to accomplish that task. According to former Hawaii county chief Kubojiri, to his knowledge no one in Hawaii county has EVER received a CCW license. When did the clock start on making NFA items legal in Hawaii?

so maybe by 2164 we'll go to a shall issue state?

I'd tone down the optimism a bit.  :shaka: Ginsburg will probably still be on the SCOTUS bench then.

A little bit of levity here guys - the bill passed in ONE committee, and didn't even make it out of there without revisions. Despite having 10 co-sponsors, it was never even HEARD in the second committee (JUD). Not surprising to me in the slightest. Absent a full court press by the NRA, HRA (both highly unlikely) and a sea-change in advocacy by the average Hawaii gun owner AND pro-2A citizens, we aren't going to get anywhere legislatively in this state.

It was a small step, but not a giant leap.

The good thing is it was created and supported by a group of democrat legislators.

I'm new to hunting and suppressors.  Do you need to use subsonic ammunition with rifle suppressors or will suppressors still lower the sound sufficiently with standard ammo to prevent hearing damage?

This is an old thread, but I feel like answering this question.

First, I mostly live on Kauai,  it also live in Texas where I collect machine guns and suppressors and am also an FFL/SOT dealer with a business partner.

With rifle rounds, suppressors make standard ammo bearable.  One or two shots with one is a huge difference from without, and you will be fine.  Technically not hearing safe, but it’s way way better.  Use subsonic rounds, and with most suppressors you will now be in the hearing safe range for all day shooting.

With pistol rounds it’s the same.  The are quieter and slower, but super sonic is still. It really hearing safe.  It’s close and fine for a couple shots though.  45acp on the other hand is already subsonic.  It’s laughably quiet with standard ammo.  Same thing with 22 ammo.  Standard ammo shot through a good 22 can, like a dead air mask, is laughably quiet.  Add subsonic ammo to the mix, and holy balls, it AWESOME!

This is cool to see.  I doubt it will pass, but if so, I’ll djust finitely be bringing my license here as I’m sure I have more experience shooting suppressed guns or all types and brands than most on Kauai.  Also, I love to help and teach others!

Thank your pro gun legislatures!!
