I tried to order a set of Lee dies this morning thru Amazon and they no longer ship dies (but not all Lee items as I ordered a 4 hole shell plate and they will ship that) to Hawaii. I called Amazon and they stated since Lee does the actual shipping then it is their decision to stop shipping to Hawaii and Alaska. This just changed as I have a set of Lee dies (different caliber) due to arrive in my mailbox this morning.

The set that is arriving today was ordered about a month ago. When you order Lee products from now on you need to check if they will ship Internationally or not or if they restrict Alaska and Hawaii. I found the restriction listed both ways. The stupid part is that I had the order in my Amazon shopping cart before the weekend and I got distracted and so I placed the order this morning and somewhere between my putting the items in the cart and my placing the order this morning they changed shipping restrictions. 

Amazon is placing more items on the no ship list to HI which questions what real benefits of prime to HI.  I could not order shower valve repair kits which are less than 1/4 Lb. and non-hazardous last month.  Amazon would not give me an answer why.  Maybe they better only sell 48 start flags since they shun AK and HI.

Just spoke with Lee Precision. They have not placed any restrictions shipping the Hawaii or Alaska. The said a distributor handles their products with Amazon and Lee does not deal directly deal with Amazon.
Tried to order a set of Deluxe 9mm dies from Amazon. Got the same restriction. Called Amazon and they could not understand what the problem was either since they tried to order pacesetter 9mm dies using my prime account and the was letting it thru!
The supervisor I was working with has submitted a trouble ticket with the department who indexes products. He said maybe the person who indexed a new shipment screwed up. He said it should be fixed as soon as possible.
Maybe there is another supplier who works thru and fulfills for Amazon that will ship the dies. In my case he sent me this link for the 9mm Deluxe set $5.49 for shipping which comes out to about the same price for the 9mm dies ordered from Amazon Prime.

UPDATE: did some more checking. If your ordering  pistol dies from Lee the restriction comes up. Pacesetter dies are good to go. Hornady, RCBS, etc pistol and rifle are good to go. All other lee products are good to go.... Hopefully they'll get this straight....

I insisted that was a mistake on their end and the supervisor kept pushing back with the Lee must have changed their shipping restrictions. Oh well, I placed my order somewhere else. Paid a few dollars more but spread my money around to another company. I know that sometimes I can get things cheaper somewhere else. I happen to like the convenience of shopping on Amazon. Which is why I used them a lot. If this sort of thing continues I will cut off my ties with Amazon and go back to shopping around.

Amazon has a lot of quirks in what they ship.  I tried ordering a 64gb flash drive from them but they don't ship to Hawaii.  However the 32GB was available.  I guess those extra 32GB weigh too much.

Who knows knowadays.  Maybe there's other dangerous uses for a Delta Monitor 1700 valve cartridge and locking nut.  Other sellers on Amazon can ship but then you can't use your prime free shipping.   Had this on items like window A/C covers or some other ridiculous stuff.  I wish they would say upfront "No sales to AK/HI so you don't waste time in checkout to find out later.  I got my stuff later on ebay.

I've had Amazon ship a product from a given vendor once and then when I try to reorder the same product from same vendor, can't ship.  One was a flannel lined table cloth!  Nothing bulky, heavy, or anything shipping related that would be restricted, expensive, etc.

I know many online vendors only use say UPS or FedEx.  Some have super high shipping since they only offer 2nd Day Air or other express type options.  I know USPS is available and much cheaper, but some of those companies won't use USPS.  Their choice and my choice no to pay the higher shipping and will go elsewhere, even if the item itself may be more expensive.  I look at the total cost.  I feel MUCH worse paying $25 + 25 shipping than I do say $40 + $10 shipping.  It's like the overall "value" of the item is wasted on shipping, especially when I know the shipping cost could be much lower, but a company refused to go that option.  Yeah, not really logical as the same end cost, but I refuse to give people business that over charge for shipping.  Plenty of other companies to spend my money with. 

Prime sucks now cause of all the restrictions, I let mines expire and will not go back. eBay has a lot of free shipping for smaller items, hope u find what u need for a reasonable shipping price. It's stupid how a lot of vendors treat Hawaii like it's international, they don't have the brains to actually check and realize if it's something that'll fit in a flat rate box it costs the same and will get here in the same time as anywhere in the US. The larger items I can understand. Lots of sellers use Hawaii as an excuse to overcharge on the shipping and then send it the cheapest way anyway
