Tomorrow (Friday) May 5th Darrin is due in court .  9am Kaneohe Court house - if he no shows he defaults to over twenty thousand dollars.

I almost feel like showing up to video him like a reporter!

Nice.  If he defaults the problem will be collecting it.....

I'm sure whoever extended him credit to buy stock already has dibs.

I was thinking if credit was through the wholesaler, the product was collateral.  Depends on who carries the credit.

He was a NO SHOW - Had an attorney there who grumbled he was not being paid - they did not fight the law suit, he's got to be out by Wednesday 5/12 -- I'll let the group know when Darrin will be at the Kaneohe location to move out as this has to be scheduled.  If you have items in the shop that you paid for stay tuned.

Why did the attorney show up if he wasn't being paid?  A smart attorney asks for a retainer and when that runs low you have to put more money in.  Like a car don't run without fuel in the tank, all the attorneys I lnow don't work without money in tbe bank.  Only exception would be a personal injury lawsuit where they take a percentage of the judgement.

Maybe the attorney has something he wants (gun?) locked up in the store?

An attorney who is scheduled for court can't just decide to not go based on nonpayment of fees.  Leaving a client without representation on the day of a hearing isn't going to fly.

He should have petitioned the court for removal as attorney of record based on beech of contract.

That is my point.  If he had an initial retainer of let's say $2000, and it got down to $500.  He could have told Mr Haitsuka to bring it back up to $2000.  If Mr Haitsuka did not do so, he could have had time to petition the court to have him removed as counsel because of nonpayment of fees.  I don't know the whole story, but from what I do see, the attorney representing Mr Haitsuka is not very smart as far as money is concerned.  Maybe Darin scammed him as well.

Based on stories of past behavior, the lawyer likely received promises and assurances the check is in the mail, or I'll go get a money order the day before the hearing.  If the lawyer was patient and/or believed payment was coming, I'm sure he wound up with no choice but to appear.

No confusion about it.... I put up with that S.O.B for nearly 10 years as one of my Hunter Ed instructors. Haitsuka is a frakking good for nothing scum bag who needs to be put away permanently. Why our judicial system has failed to do so is beyond belief. The only thing that could come close to this dooshbag is a pile of dog crap. The crap would probably smell better....

There are several investigations moving forward just to inform y'all, however the status is confidential.

On that note I had an interesting lunch with some people from Waterfront Plaza and some of the former vendors of Hawaii On Target which shed new light on things that happened there. The information these people provided (by their PERMISSION) is also now part of ONE of the aforementioned investigations.

Justice is slow, the Hawaii system is also corrupted internally as I've discovered, but Mr Darin Hisao Haitsuka (no mistaking him for the cousin here) no longer has HPD and State Sheriffs connections, and I'm confident something will happen very soon.

I am not authorized to give any details, but I will tell you this and it is very serious, if you have given your personal information to Mr. Haitsuka at anytime in the past, for example payment information, credit card number, your home address, birthdate, (i.e. you've taken a class from him? Given him your phone number and email address?) I would suggest very strongly that you monitor your credit report, and possibly even take the next step and report to the federal trade commission that your ID may be compromised in the event that something unusual appears on your credit report, or if you notice odd charges on your credit card(s).

File a report ASAP with Honolulu Police Department Financial Crimes Division, get in touch with the local FBI Special Agent, and also importantly, report this guys activity to the NRA so they can possibly remove him as an instructor.

He has or had instructor status in multiple disciplines and he needs to lose that, as well as any future access to firearms for the rest of his life.
