If any of you have been defrauded by him its best to file a police report.  The more people there are making cases against him, the better the chances are of getting him prosecuted/convicted.  I dont know the whole story, but unless hes broken any govt regs/laws in which the govt could be the complainant, the govt isnt going to go after him because they are not the "victims".  IE, The govt isnt going to go after him because he hasnt taken the govt's money (as far as i know).  That is why it is important that if you have been shorted by this guy to file a report.  Dont be the type that thinks, "ah well somebody else will do it" or "they already have a case against him", then when nothing happens, complain about the police not doing anything.  They need a complainant in order to make a case.    Ive not had any dealings with and am not affected by this guy, but it sounds like hes a giant pain in the ass that should probably be in prison.

I heard he's trying to sell ammo out of Kapolei, cannot confirm. Avoid those cheap, cash only sales unless it's from a reputable store/vendor..

How does this joker have base access? I was on MCBH for a meeting and saw him and his son in the white Dodge Durango RTC ### just passing the gas station and heading into post. I had my buddy hang back, spin around and follow him, he drove over and he parked at the MCX. It was definitely him, wearing his orange and white plaid 5.11 shirt and black tactical pants. As we passed I took a picture of his truck. It's pretty messed up like he lives out of it.

Did you notice if he has a DoD vehicle decal?  There are all kinds from all different bases.  He could also easily get a temp pass if he has a member vouch for him.

We saw the MCH vehicle pass but didn't think to take a pic, we didn't want to stop too long or draw attention to ourselves especially since he doesn't know us.

He's got stickers from Sheriffs etc but those can be bogus.

I've heard but haven't checked yet, that he has a dependants card and his claims of prior military service are greatly exaggerated. This could be something the Stolen Valor folks might want to look at, especially if he may be lying about either having the legal right as a dependant (not really married to a service member), or lying about his service. Folks I talked to from Waterfront and elsewhere indicated his wild claims of military service include sniper instructor and counterinsurgency.

If even half the claims about him are true then he has a predilection for fraud and will do anything to get money and or benefits. He may already be defrauding the government. It's already working hours Monday morning on the East Coast and I've already notified a few folks who "need to know". Stay frosty friends, and stay tuned to this channel.

He's is (or was) married to an Hawaii Air National Guard or AF reservist, can't remember which. He must have legal custody of his kid (if they split up) and the kid has base privileges. Since he's underage, that scumbag probably has a dependent ID card either cause he's still married or by his custody of his son. Either way, he's got the card. God help him if I can find someone who is willing to sign an affidavit stating he's been claiming military service. I'll do my best to hang his ass.....

DoD did away with decals a some years back. MCBH was the last holdout and were forced to accept the ID only. If he has stickers on his vehicle they are probably expired...

I'd have to check, but MCBH brought back base decals maybe a year ago or now, and then it changed to something like needing a temp pass for a year, to that going away as well. I haven't golfed out there in a while, so I dunno for sure. IIRC, I would need to get a day pass each time I head out there.

Though when I go there for work, I am usually in a government vehicle, so just need CAC.

Some of the wild claims that Haitsuka had told to some folks, counter sniper presidential detail, cleanup of Baton Rouge after Katrina and support of LA-NG, support US Marshals Service for APEC conference, and COMMAND MASTER SERGEANT in the USAF. Also claims three branches of service and chest full of medals that covers 80% of his chest. This mirrors the Stolen Valor angle I mentioned earlier.

Humorous anecdote from a military serviceman and his wife who took a class of his last year, "after claiming he was E9 USAF, during a break in the (Hawaii firearms?) class, (he) was telling us a hypothetical situation what if someone accosted him (for example) in Utah or a state having reciprocity with Utah (since he is or was a qualified Utah CCW instructor which he LOST for some unexplained reason?, 'time to go DEFCON FIVE on (whoevers) a**,' he got it WRONG, should be DEFCON ONE."

"My buddy and I looked at each other and shrugged, this guys not for real huh?"

A command E9 should know DEFCON. A REAL E9 couldn't possibly get it wrong and confused. it's been established for DECADES.

He also mentioned something about the knives he carried as backup, "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6," and the empty pistol Magazine and handcuffs he carries sometimes to draw attention to himself as a POTENTIAL LEO without actually being one or mistaken for active shooter if something goes down. "Cops will see the rig (handcuffs and empty pistol mags) from behind and hopefully I won't get downed by friendlies (friendly fire in the event of actual live shooter incident)."

The guy telling me the story and I laughed out loud. I've now made this a personal mission and have dedicated hours of my own time, off work, to research this loser and his insane stories. I've also been in touch with others and been convincing them to go forward to HPD, as there's real fraud involved with this Darin Hisao Haitsuka fella.

What else does he claim? Maybe he did some work with VODA CONSULTING in addition to his years of military service?

Cursory check revealed that there are two collection accounts associated with Haitsuka, Darin H. One is a linked back to a gun and firearms accessory distributor back on the mainland.

There may be some locally but I don't have those connections here. Yet.
