OK, so I headed to Magnum today to test out my new P290.
Here's some pictures...
As far as my first impressions, all I can say is WOW. This little gun is a shooter.
I fired a total of 200 rounds today.
50 Ranger 124 grain +P, 50 Blazer 124 grain & 100 American Eagle 115 grain.
There were ZERO failures of any sort. No FTF's, FTE's, nada.
I used both magazines and as could be expected, the longer magazine made for a more secure grip on the gun but even the smaller (2 finger) magazine was ok.
The gun was a pleasure to shoot with either magazine. It never bit in to the hand anywhere and was extremely comfortable, considering the size.
The magazines eject with some speed when you press the magazine release. They loaded smoothly. (7 rounds in the larger mag, 6 in the shorter one)
Accuracy was excellent with iron sights, which were spot on from the factory, and with the laser, which I had to adjust to zero.
All shooting was done standing with two hands and no support of anykind.
I've written down the different ranges and ammo I used on most of the pictures.
Picture #5 was shot at 7 yards, double tap to the body and single shot to the head as fast as I could draw and shoot.
My opinion is that this would make an excellent CCW gun for anyone.
