Hammer attack in Kapolei
« on: March 23, 2017, 05:36:02 PM »
Elderly man working in his garage was attacked from the back and hit in the head with a hammer.   Neighbors say the criminal left in a silver Charger and also a black SUV was noticed cruising the area before the attack.   Hope anyone from Kapolei area can give more details of the vehicles and the story.  Bad a$$ nowadays.
Seems odd no charges of attempted murder were mentioned in the story when someone gets hit in the head with a hammer.

Isn't this the second attack against an elderly in Kapolei in the past few days or weeks?  WTF.  This is why I carry on my property, and people say I'm paranoid!

And they are classifying this as burglary?  WTF? A hammer to the head is attempted murder in my book.  Is there any more evidence needed to prove that this state loves and adores criminals?

More like "professional courtesy."

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Didn't know this type of attack happened recently before in Kapolei.   Thing is working in the garage, you need to always face the street like when you sit in a restaurant always face the door if possible.  I have couple long blades staged to protect against "wild critters", but I think from the street it would only take about 3 seconds for someone to rush me in the garage.  I would be able to draw faster than trying to unsheath 2 knives.  I carry if I'm in the garage at night or throwing rubbish on my property but if another incident like this, I'm carrying anytime I work in the garage.   Always carry a phone with me when outside.
I'm betting these perps won't say a word when approaching you.  I believe you have seconds to react and no time to rationalize or analyze what's happening.

I have resisted carrying around my property and in the garage while I'm reloading. But I am rethinking this now....

Also heard the HK Burger King workers talking of a homeless guy in the area that's causing issues.  Don't see why the homeless don't camp out at Washington PL.   Plenty of room there.

You guys better move to Puna where it is safe.  So safe that I have downgraded my carry weapon at home from a Glock 19 to a Ruger SR22.  It is so much lighter and smaller.
Happily living in Puna
