Rapback is effectively working as designed.

I would've bought at least 3 or 4 since it went into effect.  Just biding my time.  13 months to go to a freer state.

I ordered my VEPR around Thanksgiving and received it after 12/4, so I'm now in rapback. It's hard to say if I would have bought the rifle if I knew ahead of time, but I wasn't going to send it back. I have my handgun certification yet I'm holding off purchasing anything else out of fear that I'll have to buy insurance for it.

Think of the money you're saving thanks to gun control!!!

Maybe some day, but not this year. That bill (SB9) never got a committee hearing (just like all our CCW shall issue and handgun mag limit change bills) so is essentially dead for this session. Maybe they'll try again next year, and/or come up with some other bullshit common sense gun safety regulations.

I wonder what expression they'd have on their faces if they could know what is in all the luggage coming from the mainland? I'm not sayin'... I'm just sayin'...

Is it safe to assume that most gun buyers are existing owners and not 1st timers.  Because as a first time buyer, I don't care about rapback.  I gotta do what I gotta do to own firearms.

But with that being said, had I already had my collection to where it should be, I wouldn't buy more knowing I have to enter rapback.

Exactly the point.   Those that are already in a good place should now shift their efforts in fighting this, and other, infringements.

Exactly. That's what I was sayin'. In fact, I'd bet that no one in all of Hawaii does anything illegal, what with all the laws and all... who would be dumb enough to risk their freedom to break some obviously important "public safety" law? Though I'm pretty sure I've seen some drivers on South Kulani Road surpassing the 25 MPH limit...

I'd say it's equal parts of the election, rapback, and people bought all the guns they need already.  Most people still don't know anything about rapback or don't care.  Gun craze has been going on for a long time, since Sandy Hook in 2012, so I think most of the people that wanted guns bought them already.  Eventually guns and ammo sales are going to drop back down to historical levels unless something like CCW comes around.

I believe we're law abiding and am sure all of us would do the right thing and turn in to Fed. DHS any local official who tried to obstruct or break immigration laws regardless of future state laws.

I know gun sales have slowed. Just wondering if, besides rapback, if not having the threat of gun confiscation over your head is also a factor? Apparently, ammo sales don't seem slow. All I have been buying the last 2 months or so have been reloading components. And I should probably stop buying that stuff as well since there is not urgency to continue to be overstocked. Yeah, I have a problem....

Rapback is THE reason I haven't already renewed my long gun permit. I had just switched from Kaiser to HMSA in November...perfect timing right?
