Oh, wait.  Imagine if the schools did do that!

The good news is, they are doing THIS instead:

Better than teaching kids about a fictitious novel written in a ancient language over 2000 years ago.

So, you have no opinion on the government ignoring the First Amendment when it comes to religion?

I was forced to take religion classes during high school here but I hated it. We weren't forced to believe in the religion, just be knowledgeable about its alleged "history" so I don't know if it would be a First Amendment issue for public schools to require such a class.

Did those classes include only Christianity?  If not, that's much different than what is being done today.  Islam is being taught, but Christianity is ignored or demonized.

My opinions.   First, for the issue of teaching islam using tax dollars is wrong.  I believe the misguided who support this is trying to mix the religion of islam with their believer's culture which is wrong and a typical action of ignorant liberal thinking.  In fact this shows the true prejudice of a liberal who doesn't know that religion and culture is different.  The U.S. was founded as a Christian nation and is a Christian nation.  That said, the government has done a pretty thorough job in disallowing Christianity in public schools, so this islam indoctrination is wrong.   However I don't want the words "under God" removed from the pledge of allegiance.   If school kids want to pray before a game, it's their free will.   Years ago in HI, the public schools worked together with the YMCA and YBA in promoting teen social clubs that gave teens a place to gather and have activities and socials.    I believe most will agree that those days were better for youth than what's happening now.  Kids roaming the malls or going to clubs, etc.
Second, when I state "everybody makes their own decision", it's what's in your heart.   If you don't want to accept Christ's offer of salvation, it's up to you.   You don't have to be saved if you don't believe it.   Nobody will force you and you are free to believe what you want.   God gave everyone free will.

The class I was forced to take was only Christianity with no history component outside of what was in the bible. It was private school, but I was just musing that even in public school perhaps it could be consistent with the First Amendment as long as they don't force you to believe in the religion, but only be knowledgeable about its contents. I'd still hate it even so. I also hated being forced to take classes about Hawaiian history or religion and do Hawaiian dances. Actually I hate all history and language classes.

Was that a faith-based private school?  Catholic, perhaps?

I don't know, but I managed to not be expelled despite not giving a crap about God, while I have been expelled from public school for simply writing that I support the Second Amendment. So our nation is really screwed up, and the courts are corrupt as hell.

So when you die, and assuming there is no God, how would you know?
That's a hard one.  Taking your assumption there is no God, then there is no heaven or God's home.  Also there is no such thing as good and evil, and there is no such thing as the soul as everything is only physical.  If there's no God or existence later, then all the believers, those that mankind revered as good, Billy Graham etc. will be in the same nothingness as Hitler, Himmler, Pol Pot, Stalin or Bin Laden.  For these reasons I cannot assume there's no God.
My belief in God is not based on any scientific argument or data or rationalizing.   To me there is no argument, either you believe or not.   Why does person X believe and person Y not believe, I don't know.   When you believe you just know.
As I said some do, some don't, some will and some won't.   Even if the alternative to eternal life in God's home is say an eternal Disneyland or Playboy Mansion, I'll take real life in God's home any day.
I don't condemn anybody for not believing as it's their free will.  All I know is where my real home will be after this life.  How joyous it is when you know that you approach real life faster with very passing day, instead of worrying about this worldly life we're losing as the calendar passes.
Probably my above remark based on faith which defines my opinion is not satisfactory to you, but if you honestly want your question answered, then the best thing is to discuss this with a pastor.

Why not?  We are all flesh and bone and are judged by our actions in this history of humanity.  We live on through others and their memories and the history books.   Leaving this world a better place than when you arrived is how you should mark success as a human.   If you do evil then it will be known throughout time how bad you are.  I personally don't believe in "Christ" or any human notion of god.   God if he does exist is far past our meager understanding we can't comprehend him.  There is no way any religion on earth is more than human thoughts of what perhaps he might be and a cult.   It would be like neanderthals trying to understand how a space rocket works if meager humans could understand god. The only way we will find out what happens is when we die.  Live a good life and you may be rewarded if he exists.  Just believing in your god shouldn't be enough to end up in heaven.  What if Hitler the day before he died truly repented for his sins, according to your book he would be forgiven and you would meet him in heaven.

Religion any religion should not be taunt in any school with any public funds.  We are not a christian nation we are a nation of the free.  The free to decide what and if we believe in anything.

Can you please stay on topic.  This is not another OMNI VS RELIGION thread!!  This is about the schools giving Islam a place in our kids' public schools.

You had ONE LINE that was on topic.  The entire paragraph above it was not, and the same for your entire post preceding it.  It's another repeat of your beliefs we've all seen before.
