For those who want a relatively simple way to tell Gabbard you'd like her to support HR38 National Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017... GOA makes it simple (especially if you have used the system before and checked "Remember Me"):

https://cqrcengage.com/gunowners/home?8

Currently listed first on the page:

Concealed Carry Reciprocity is Approaching 200 Cosponsors!
Please use GOA’s Legislative Action Center to email your congressman in support of H.R. 38.

Message Subject:

Why haven't you cosponsored H.R. 38?

Dear
[Tulsi Gabbard],

* Your Message:

Gun Owners of America tells me that you have not yet cosponsored H.R. 38, the concealed carry reciprocity bill.

I consider this bill a top priority, as protecting my Second Amendment rights while traveling is very important to me.

I don't want to ever end up like Shaneen Allen, who is a law-abiding resident and concealed carrier in Pennsylvania.  While driving through New Jersey, she was pulled over for a traffic stop, arrested and prosecuted due to New Jersey's non-reciprocity laws.

She was threatened with a minimum of three years in prison before being pardoned by Gov. Chris Christie.

This is not an isolated incident.  Many others have faced similar situations, and many more are forced to forego their rights in compliance with irrational and oftentimes unconstitutional state laws that deny them reciprocity.

By co-sponsoring this bill, you would be promoting safety amongst a class of citizens who, statistically, commit fewer crimes than do the police.

So please cosponsor H.R. 38.

* Your Closing

Sincerely,

* Your Name

Thanks excellent tool.  I didn't know we needed more votes in the house for the bill to come out.

Just realized it automatically brings up your local representative, so it gave me Hanabusa.

It's been two weeks, and with the nutjob lefties going berserk and shooting Republican officeholders out in public thought I'd give Tulsi's office a call in D.C. and see if she has taken a position on HR 38 yet.

Here we go again, but, you can't make this shit up...

The person I spoke on the phone happened to be a woman, and she happened to know nothing at all about HR 38 or what Gabbard's position on it is, and all the people that might know about it were unavailable. I said it was important to me because not one single person in the state of Hawaii can lawfully bear the best tool available, a firearm, to defend themselves outside the home. So all the women who are raped outside their home, all the people assaulted outside their home, all the people robbed outside their home, etc. are being denied the right to self-defense with the best tool to protect against criminal attack.

Now, can you guess what her response was? Think about it for a second. Think of something only the mind of a really stupid progressive, unwilling to deal with reality, could come up with...

"Well, they could carry a baseball bat or have a dog with them."

No, I'm not making that up. Really happened.

It did dawn on me however, that THAT'S the reason I see all those women entering bars in the evening leaving baseball bats in the umbrella holders just inside the doors! Makes sense now!

I thought she would've said  "Don't go outside and you won't be raped, assaulted or robbed".  :wacko:

Gabbard's position is obvious.   :crazy:
“I ask you to judge me by the enemies I have made.”

Well, not OUTSIDE your house anyway. AND you can actually have a gun in your house for self-defense. That is a good answer though, along the lines of "Well, if they committed suicide they wouldn't have to worry about such things".

Gabbard's position is obvious.   :crazy:
Maybe to you and me, but we have at least one person here who thinks she can be "convinced" to support HR 38. My question is "Why won't she publicly state her position?" She can't lose. If she comes out AGAINST it the vast majority of the 70% of voters she got last time will cheer and vote for her again, and if she comes out FOR the bill, the vast majority of the 70% of voters who voted for her last time will frown and vote for her again because they sure as hell aren't going to vote for even a Republican much less a Libertarian (neither of which have even the proverbial snowball's chance in hell... and who in the Dem party would even think of primarying the beloved Tulsi?).

Another "alert" from GOA with the easy two-click email to Tulsi... Let's hope the damn Republicans get off their collective asses and actually attempt to move this forward, sooner rather than later.

https://cqrcengage.com/gunowners/home?8

then click on

GOP Reps. Sticking to Their Guns
We have some exciting news to give you from the nation’s capital!

Part of the email message sent to members this morning:

Republican Congressmen Sticking to Their Guns!

Click on the Take Action button and urge Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) to demand that the House leadership bring up the concealed carry reciprocity bill (H.R. 38) for an immediate vote.  Also, urge Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) to cosponsor H.R. 2909, which will allow you to travel armed to our nation's capital.

Fiery Republican Congressmen Demanding Concealed Carry Reciprocity

I have some exciting news to give you from the nation's capital.
We have been on the phone with Capitol Hill offices.

And our lobbyists have been walking the halls of Congress, after the tragic shooting in Alexandria, Virginia.
By all accounts, Republican members of Congress are more fired up than ever to get concealed carry reciprocity legislation passed.
One office told me recently that his boss was furious that Congress has been dragging its collective feet on the gun issue.
Your activism is also helping tremendously.
The alert that I sent out last week to GOA grassroots members has resulted in a new wave of emails being sent to Congress.
Republican lawmakers are more emboldened than ever.

Thanks for taking the time to let them know you exist (every time I've called Gabbard's office not one single person answering the phone knew what HR38 was...).

Well, if by "wasted" you mean that despite sending (numerous) emails the entire Hawaii Congressional delegation, if ever given the chance, will vote against any kind of reciprocity law (or any other law) that would allow Hawaii residents to legally bear arms outside their home for self-defense, I'd have to concur (call me a pessimist, cynic, realist, whatever). They will never vote against the current policy of the state bureaucrats and politicians, for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is voting against it would probably enhance their already almost 100% chance of being re-elected (maybe a coronation?). At least they know we're out here, however they may label us for expressing the desire to exercise a Constitutionally-protected right (they swore an oath to uphold) without being a criminal and facing jail time. I'm having one of those moments where the monstrous gap between the Constitution and the practices of the state of Hawaii (not one single person can legally carry via the state CCW or open carry laws) seems... "impossible". How can this be? Yet... here we are.

My short-term best "hope" is for Norman and/or Nichols to make it to SCOTUS, be granted cert, and establish a clear unambiguous right to carry and the exact degree to which it CAN be "infringed" (aka "regulated"). This would work best if one or two more justices were replaced by Trump appointees (keep your fingers crossed). Long-term (20-30 years, if ever), it'd be to work locally to replace one infringing politician at a time with one who TRULY supports the Second Amendment (they all say they do). The problem with that plan is that this is Hawaii, and the vast majority of people here want tyrants in office who are indifferent to personal liberty (well except for "gay marriage", "abortion", etc.. I guess perhaps "personal liberty" as actually written in the Constitution).

I suspect that if SCOTUS allows CCW in Hawaii, the "alohaexit" movement will be born. Back to Sovereignty I guess...

Another day, another GOA automated email opportunity to your House Rep (Gabbard or Hanabusa) in recognition of the 200th cosponsor (well 199 plus Rep. Hudson who submitted the bill).

https://cqrcengage.com/gunowners/home?4

Support for Reciprocity Hits New Milestone
The concealed carry reciprocity bill (H.R. 38) has just reached 200 backers in Congress. With 199 cosponsors, plus chief sponsor Richard Hudson (R-NC), support for the bill has reached an almost unprecedented level of support.
* * * * *
You still haven't cosponsored H.R. 38?

I understand that you still have not cosponsored the concealed carry reciprocity bill (H.R. 38).

Why not?

If there is anything that we can learn from the tragic event in Alexandria is that potential victims need to be armed.

As stated in The Wall Street Journal recently:

"Had Rep. Scalise and his security team not been present, congressman and their aides would have been easy pickings until local police arrived."

"It would have been a bloodbath," said Rep. Joe Barton, one of the cosponsors of the bill.

This bill is the chief priority for groups like Gun Owners of America, which will score support (or non-support) for this bill in its Congressional Voter Guide prior to the next election.

By co-sponsoring this bill, you would be promoting safety amongst a class of citizens who, statistically, commit fewer crimes than do the police.

So please cosponsor H.R. 38.
