Prices on the 1903's have been steadily climbing. I bought mine a few years ago for $600 when average prices were $800-$1,000. And mine is a 03A3 poi rifle with a Springfield high serial number receiver and a brand new 1944 barrel and new wood.

Usually guns from the CMP command a little higher price. I would guess these rifles would probably sell for $1,500-$1,800 on Gunbroker. Which is probably where some will end up. Some '03's can command prices upwards of $5k or more. Just remember CMP '03's have not been available for many years so these are a real find IMHO.

they are seriously overpriced.

i think they are bring backs that was lend to Greece shortly after WWII, which lowers their conductibility value. I mean as a shooter im sure its fine but not as a collector, which is the price point its at.

Yet they still sold out quicker than a jack rabbit on a date.

For those who feel they are overpriced, check out comparable sales on Gun Broker. These guns have value just because they came unmolested straight from the CMP. The value is perceived, obviously. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for one, but the demand for good examples in this price range is very high. Supply and demand is at work here.

I would buy more from CF but I paid $90 for shipping of the VEPR I bought last year. Free/cheap shipping is a major decision maker when shopping online.

I checked about 30 mins after this supposedly went live and it was out of stock.

A 1903 is one gun that I would love to own. My dad has a CMP 1903. Can't recall details, but I believe it's a Remington receiver and service grade or maybe higher. We've shot it a bunch of times and it's a fun gun to shoot.

I've always been interested in surplus rifles like these. Also stuff like SKS, Mosin, etc. The pricing isn't great these days though.

I think the main reason why they have such high demand is the videos that Ben makes. People are more likely to buy from CF if the rifle has been displayed on YouTube rather than just listed in Gunbroker. I frequently compare 2A listings to the prices on Gunbroker, but Ben's videos are more entertaining.
