What's this thingamabob?
« on: April 24, 2017, 11:06:33 AM »
I found this thingamabob in my tool chest. I have no clue what it's used for.

The span of the knubs are perfect for use as a front sight post adjuster for my FAL provided two opposing knubs are grounded off.

I'd like to know what I'm chopping up before I take a grinder to it. Does anybody know what the tool is used for? Did I find one of the two nuclear bomb detonator keys, some long-lost ancient tool used by an alien civilization or did my dad throw his golf shoe cleat remover into my tool box?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Looks a little like a propane lockout key, but I can't remember exactly how they are. The kind gas companies use to lock tanks. I would keep it regardless, most times keys for specialty stuff is expensive and/or hard to come by. Once you find out what its for you'll probably wish you still had it.

Ar15 front sight?

Those have 4 prongs, but usually flat around the edge of the sight adjustment screw.

Or an alien probe. You should probably call NASA and tell them about it just to make sure.

Hmm... I could do some serious damage with it in a public bathroom.
