Time for Mandatory Registration of Pipe? Confiscation from Dangerous People? (Read 2844 times)

I'm writing AG Chin tomorrow and asking him to submit legislation that will require mandatory registration and waiting periods for all sales and transfers of pipe. Also to amend the pending bill to confiscate firearms from persons deemed via an ex parte hearing to be a danger to themselves or others to include pipe confiscation. Also to enact a law that will make felons ineligible/prohibited persons unable to purchase or have pipe transferred to them or even be in possession of pipe. Seems reasonable to me.

On Sunday, Aquino allegedly used a three-foot long metal pipe to break three palace door windowpanes, some of which were more than a century old. Aquino was also indicted for breaking the glass in the door to the House of Representatives chambers of the State Capitol building.

“The cultural and historical significance of Iolani Palace to the people of Hawai‘i cannot be overstated,” said Attorney General Chin. “The State Capitol is a vital public building. Aquino will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.”

Aquino is a 57-year old man with five previous felony convictions. He was indicted for one count of first-degree criminal property damage, a class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison; and one count of second-degree criminal property damage, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

But then they would have to modify the law making it illegal to file off or cut off the number. Otherwise you would have to spend an additional hour in jail if caught filing or cutting in the act.  :geekdanc: :geekdanc: :geekdanc:

No pipes under 16" allowed and it's a Federal offense to wrap a sound dampening cushion around the pipe. I wonder if you're allowed to bring pipes into a pipe convention?
