KHON blocked me from their Facebook
« on: June 01, 2017, 10:35:44 PM »
Just found out I can no longer post on their Facebook page.
Never swore or blasted anyone , pretty much supported Conservative view and left comments the left doesn't like.
The liberal media has censored me.

Same here.  All I did was debate anti-gunners, but always posted facts -- no attacks or insults.

I wonder if they can be sued like HPD was when they were deleting comments they didn't like?  1st Amendment should swing both ways, especially for a NEWS site!

I don't see how. A news organization is private, you don't have 1st amendment protections from private organizations, only the government.

You can sue any business for anything they do wrong.  Even if the Constitution isn't an issue, there may be an argument.

If they violate their own policies by banning people who do NOT violate terms of use, it's possible.

Might not win, but the suit would publicize their unfair practices.  Might fix the issue.

Sounds like an expensive waste of time.  They technically did nothing wrong.  Its their site, just like their office they can ask you to leave for any reason. Businesses can refuse to serve people.

How expensive do you think something like this would be ?

It's ridiculous that some of you guys are so pro-First Amendment when your views are the ones censored, that you would attempt to sue in a case you have no chance of winning. Yet are completely anti-First Amendment when your enemy's views are censored.

Yes, First Amendment ought to swing both ways. But make sure you have a consistent First Amendment stance before saying that.

That makes zero sense.

Please explain and give examples of enemies' views being censored.

Depending on how far you push and who you hire it will probably be the low 5 figure amount or 4 figures.  This is just my estimates though

The Bill of Rights only restricts the government.  People and organizations can restrict other peoples free speech and gun possession on their property.  Same as protestors have no right to protest on your home property.  Any suit challenging this will fail miserably.

That would be me lol.

I wouldn't say thats right otherwise the hobylobby case and the baker making gay cakes would never of been heard in courts.

One could reasonably argue that their conservative values are tied to their deep religious beliefs and by blocking them they are discriminating them based on their religion.
