A hammer and kitchen knives were found on the assailant, as well as documents suggesting he was an Algerian student, Collomb said. He said authorities were working to verify his identity.

"We have passed from a very sophisticated terrorism to a terrorism where any instrument can be used for attacks," he said.

At least there wasn't anyone quoted asking why the attacker had to be shot since he only had a hammer.

I have at least 15 unregistered hammers of various kinds.  From a 12 lb sledge to a small 4oz craft making hammer that is highly concealable.  I even have rubber hammers that cannot be detected by a metal detector and a dead blow hammer that is pretty quiet when striking.  I think I should stock up on hatchets since I only have 2.

You could almost cause a bruise with that concealable 4ozer! Be careful!

Well, the hatchet/axe deficiency can easily be corrected, for now. Don't wait too long. (May I suggest the inclusion of a splitting maul just for variety...).

I believe you live on acreage in a rainforest, so I assume your inventory of machetes is in the range of "arsenal"... I know mine is. :shaka:

I always had a good supply of cane knives, even on Oahu since I was in the tree business, which I like better than machetes.  Currently I have about 10, 6 of which are new unused.  That should be a lifetime supply for me.

I concur. I just thought the "cane knives" were a subset of all machetes. That should indeed be a lifetime supply unless during a zombie apocalypse you have to dole them out to neighbors.  :shaka:

A drywall hammer is one I do not have.  I checked my hammer supply and I actually have 27!  I had 10 in my mechanic roll away alone.
