The liberal media will swing this anyway they can towards the democrats way, we all know Fox News will contradict this and both sides will play the political game. This country is divided and it's who do you believe in the end. I don't condone violence but maybe this person should not have a gun in the first place if that person threatens people. This person legally owned guns and ounce you threaten people your guns should be confiscated immediately by law officials. It's the lapse in judgment of law officials that caused this to happened like so many people like this that slip through the law

Please provide the specific legal language defining "threat" that would merit confiscation, and give the examples that fit within that definition from anything Hodgkinson wrote or said.

hodgkins so I read this monster has a history of domestic violence thus slipping through the cracks of law enforcement but don't blame Bernie and make this political because he is all about light populous, this monster took bernie's words and made it dark populous in his own way and thus the political fallout the republican extremist will use this against sanders. The republicans just want to change the system and Bernie sanders uses his light populous to go against this change. This monster didn't understand what the republicans was doing and took sanders words the wrong way and made it into something evil. This is not politics, this is a monster that law enforcement should have looked closely but slipped through the cracks

James T. Hodgkinson had a violent history involving guns long before he opened fire on the congressional baseball practice.

According to police records ... Hodgkinson was busted in 2006 for allegedly punching his daughter's 20-year-old female
friend and striking a male friend with the butt of a shotgun. Police say he also fired a shot that didn't hit anyone.

Hodgkinson was trying to get his daughter to leave the friend's house ... but when she refused, he got physical. Police
say he grabbed his daughter by her hair, and pulled her to the floor.

The daughter broke free and tried to flee in a car, but he reached in and cut her seat belt with a pocketknife. That's when
he punched the female friend in the face with a closed fist.

According to the docs ... the male friend then confronted Hodgkinson, who pulled out a shotgun and pointed it at the guy,
and then struck him with the wooden stock of the gun.

He was arrested for aggravated discharge of a firearm and domestic battery, but the charges were later dismissed.

The man accused of opening fire on a GOP baseball practice Wednesday declared his love for Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show
and ranted against Republicans in a series of letters to the editor of his local Illinois newspaper.

“One of my favorite TV shows is ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ on MSNBC,” James Hodgkinson began in one of the letters.
“On a recent show she stated that 17 very rich men are supplying the Republican Party with more than 60 percent of their
campaign contributions.”

“These men are trying to buy our country,” he continued. “You know they expect something for all this money. That something
is that Mitt Romney and a Republican Congress won’t raise their taxes. We all know that the rich don’t pay enough taxes.”

Hodgkinson sent the letters to the Belleville News-Democrat in 2012. The paper published the letters Wednesday after he was
identified as the baseball shooter.
