Well, I should say "I'm never letting this one go until Obama and Holder are held accountable", but as we all know "those kind of people" rarely if ever are held accountable the way normal people would be, so I guess I'm NEVER letting this one go. I'm already on my second version of my homemade "Prosecute Obama" bumpersticker already... I wonder if people will even know what it means in a few more years? Hopefully Obama will be forgotten as the bumbling clown anti-American worst-president-ever. You may say I'm a dreamer, but... (I may be the only one)... I'd like to see Obama, Holder, Clintons (all three), Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Lynch, Jarrett, Mills, Huma, etc. etc. etc. all in jail someday for lengthy sentences.

That executive privilege was even -- we are not making this up -- extended to cover Eric Holder’s wife. The extent of the coverup and the obstruction of justice in Fast and Furious is mindboggling. The statute of limitations has not run out and perhaps it is time to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate those, President Obama and Eric Holder, who are arguably guilty of criminal negligence in the death of agent Brian Terry and hundreds of Mexican nationals.

I haven't followed the fast and furious scandal in great detail but how would they pin anything criminal on Obama? I know it happened under his leadership and one can argue that he bears some responsibility for that but what would meet a criminal threshold?

Basic overview:  The operation occurred between 2009-2011.  Obama had a reelection coming up and couldn't afford a scandal.

Obama made public statements many times he knew nothing of the operation and it was a "carry-over" from Bush's operations.  That is a lie. 

The Bush operation, Wide Receiver, was 2006-2008.  Basic concept was dealers would sell to straw purchasers, ATF would intercept the straws and retrieve the guns.  The straws were then leveraged for information into the straw purchase parties, money sources, and final recipients of the weapons.

The Obama plan was vague on the objectives.  They allowed the straws to make the buys, the straws would deliver the guns,  and they would RETURN to the shops in a month or so to BUY MORE GUNS!  The shop owners being used to sell the guns were nervous, because they never before had seen the straws after the purchase until hey appeared in court to identify them.  Now the same criminals are still loose.  If they had any suspicions the dealers were cooperating in the sting, they were dead.

So, the lie that Obama knew nothing of the operation didn't fly.  Then as the investigation into the operation started, Holder began stonewalling Congress.  He was held in contempt, and Obama claimed "Executive Privilege" on the documents Holder refused to give Congress.

So, how does a President say he's never heard of Fast & Furious, and then claim Executive Privilege on the information?  "I was never briefed on the operation, but any information on it falls under the privilege of my office."  Really??

It was a failed program that was operationally flawed, resulted in hundreds of firearms in circulation which have been linked to many deaths in Mexico and a US border Patrol Agent, and a review of the program was blocked for what appears to be political reasons (reelection).

Collusion and obstruction of justice for asserting executive privilege (including to Holder's wife) in order to cover up foreknowledge of the illegal sales of arms at the instruction of BATFE/DOJ. I'm sure the "technicalities" list is longer. Read Dodson's book.

I agree that it was something that needed/needs to be investigated. The GOP have been in charge of both houses since 2014. So why have they not been successful in investigating the scandal?

The privilege is attached to the office, not the president.  It'll take Trump and his DOJ to review them and decide if privilege can be reversed.

The MSM never gave any exposure to this issue during all the years the congressional investigations were active during the Obama years (Holder being the first Attorney General EVER to held in contempt of Congress was barely a back page footnote), and if anything, they are demonstrating that they would be LESS interested in doing so now. They only "chew" on what furthers their agenda... anything else doesn't even make it onto the plate.

I see. I guess the question that arrises for me is whether executive privilege is a legal defense. Morality aside I want to know if an actual prosecutable crime occurred.

I am not asking you to do research for me, this is just the first thought that crossed my mind.
