Looking for peoples favorite most loved firearm in their closets. If you had to choose just one and only one. I myself love them all, that's why I have such a hard time answering this prompt. The two that would prob be top on the list aren't finished yet. Even in that state, they are my two most loved guns. Really want to talk about them both but going to control myself seeing as how I'm initial poster.
My garand. There are many like it but this one is mine. 200k sa garand receiver I just got from cmp as a refinished receiver. Refinished summer 41 round op rod. Sa t1 bolt. Round op rod catch. Narrow base sa gas cylinder. Trigger is an extra hole win trigger. Milled groove hand guard clip. New springs, firing pin, extractor, and rear sight. Barrel is a new sa 55 30-06. Everything is near new or refinished. Haven't gotten a hold of the stock yet. Would like a nice extra fancy walnut with lots of character. Near complete.
Why? Of everything I have, garands are well balanced, heavy hitting, and pleasant to fire. Not the most accurate. Not that light either and shooting more than a hundred rounds in one sitting is challenging. Ammo ain't cheap either. Hard to explain but its just pleasant to shoot. Gathered the most aesthetically pleasing parts and throwing them together for this rifle. Not the first rifle I've built but one of the ones I've been the most patient in building.
Everyone has a favorite. Would like to limit it to guns guys have or loved and lost. I know mine barely falls into the category. Excited to see what everyone posts.
