Power Outage in Progress
« on: June 30, 2017, 12:10:25 AM »
My neighborhood has no power.  Kipapa area in Miliani near the Meheula Pkwy and Kuahelani Blvd.

Went out just before 11:30PM.

It's too hot to be without fans or A/C, too!

Good practice for hurricane preparedness.

Yep.  Only thing I was worried about was the hot, humid weather.  With no fans or A/C, it was impossible to sleep.

In a hurricane, I doubt I'll be without wind, and sleeping won't be my #1 worry.

I have RoadRunner.  I used my AT&T smartphone as a hot spot to connect from a MacBook Air laptop.  Phone & laptop have battery power.

I'm assuming the outage didn't affect the cell towers or Time Warner Cable's connectivity.

It is after the hurricane that the weather always becomes perfectly still and sunny.  Bottom line is to be truly prepared you MUST have a means to generate electricity, not only for comfort, but also to rebuild or fix what was damaged during the storm.
