Curious...what you using for a camera and editing? PC?  Mac? Software?

Just nosey

Oh yeah, forgot to mention for the video thumbnail I used GIMP, more freeware and good for a lot of cropping, cutting, and pasting

I'm in need of a simple graphics program for win10.
The GIMP site only says XP and win7.
I got Photoshop but it's a bitchin' steep learning curve.

Would you try smartphone based photo-stitching apps? More developers are trending towards the mobile space...LiveCollage for iPhone is great for quick stitches and touch-ups.

I haven't run that many ammo types through my M&P 22 handgun, but even then it seems to definitely not like certain ones.  Particularly the Federal Champion blue box.  I've even tried giving that ammo away and other people's 22 handguns choked on it.  Anyways, that kind of got me thinking that some ammo types just aren't suited for functioning well in semi-auto handguns.  I don't shoot my 22 handgun very much anymore, but I have noticed that the higher velocity ammo tends to work well.

And yeah, video doesn't lie.  It shows many things and usually stuff that you don't want to see nor didn't think you were doing.  That's the teaching value of video though.

It's kinda funny that sometimes the (thought of) crappiest ammo works well in some pistols. Like a buddy of mine who has one of those Colt .22's 1911 type. I think made by Walther. The Federal Automatch didn't work well at all. So I gave him some CCI SV to try and it worked perfectly. Then he tried the gamut of CCI ammo, most of which worked. He tried Federal Champion and American Eagle which didn't work well either. Then one day he tried Remington Golden Bullets and Winchester bulk packed ammo and both worked really well. I never recommend either of those two brands of ammo as they seem to generally not work well in most guns and is dirty as all hell. So it depends on the individual gun.

Yup, CCI is gold standard for me, particularly when people are having questions about function and if it's ammo related.  That and some Federal HV stuff (I'd have to see the box and can't think of the particular on at the moment) has been really good.

At one point, I had so much of the crappy Federal and other bulk 22 that wasn't functioning well in my 22 handgun that I was tempted to buy a 22 revolver.  That and a 22 bolt gun.

I have a .22 revolver. It's a High Standard western type (Looks like a single action but it's a double action and cylinder swings out). Every time I buy some type of ammo I have never tried before, and if it turns out to be crap, I give the nod to my revolver. It shoots everything pretty well. Except, about 4 or 5 years ago I bought a box of Federal American Eagle (red box) and when it was lit off it sounded very strange/odd and smelled different/odd. At 50 feet, none of my rifles would be any where near POA. Mostly it hit really low and to the left. Even my revolver wouldn't shoot it well. I couldn't hit anything with this ammo. Come to find out a few months later there was a recall on the ammo.

Now I only keep Blazers as my go to plinking (HV) ammo and everything else is practice ammo (CCI SV) and target/match ammo (SK Standard +/SK Rifle Match). All my guns are sighted in for the CCI SV. With that said I still have a small amount of Aguila Sub Sonic and Aguila Golden Eagle (matches CCI SV almost exactly) that I am trying to use up. It's funny how picky my guns are but they all shoot the CCI SV and/or the SK Standard + really well.

I did just that.
sold my .22 semiauto pistol, and gave my 10/22 to my nephew
now I have two .22 revolvers and a .22 bolt gun and I couldn't be happier

Ugh, Federal Champion blue box is like the plague...I've even had issues running it through a stock Ruger 10/22 with the rotary mag.

As for the video, I'm just glad the 2aHawaii community is supportive with it's commentary. I had a feeling my technique wasn't great, but the video shows how much I have to learn. Hopefully that'll be reflected in future videos.

It does...the insert on the AA conversion kit specifically recommends Remington Golden Bullets as a good 2nd to the CCI mini-mags, I just haven't had the good fortune to find a decently priced supply of those around here.

I tried video editing on my iPhone but was difficult without buying more iTunes server space because it wants to upload the raw video to the server first before editing. I may try the LiveCollage you mentioned.

Haven't tried LiveCollage for video editing yet, lemme know how it goes :D. I've made Instagram video promos with InShot, but it liked to think for me way too damn much, and swiping and scrolling on an iPhone screen for 2 hours solid was not fun.

ok, a couple more observations
i watched the whole video this time
the first time, i only watched the beginning and the end, couldn't watch it all because i was too preoccupied with the issues on reloads and malfunction clearing

where is the placement of your trigger finger? are you using the middle of the pad or the joint area?

some of your problem with the flinch could be because it almost seems like you are timing your trigger pull
i realize you were mostly just shooting through the mags to check function, but a lot of the time you have an even rhythm to when you pull the trigger relative to your reset
(reset-bang, reset-bang, reset-bang)
you also seem to be snatching or jerking the trigger

one other thing i noticed is that when you take your finger off the trigger, a lot of the time you hold it straight across the trigger guard
we teach that if you can see your finger through the trigger guard, it is NOT off the trigger
that's because people further away from you cannot tell if the finger is straight or curved
you do it sometimes, but make sure you do it ALL the time- make sure your finger has a hard index against the frame in the takedown lever area

the way i explain the safety part to students is that it is a sign of respect that you are safe at the range
you have everyone else's back by being safe, and they can rest assured and have your back if they see you being safe
i'm actually kinda surprised that one of the range officers or other shooters didn't say anything

you obviously have a great attitude and are anxious to research and learn
i applaud your willingness to take constructive criticism and grow in the sport

hope to see you at the range sometime

aloha

I run android phone and tablets.
They have rudimentary graphics manipulation sufficient for simple stuff.

Touchscreen UI too hard for any detail pix or vid edits

Now that 22 lr ammo is back (pricing and availability), then RapBack.  I was really close to getting a Savage 22 lr bolt gun for some steel silhouette fun, but other guns took up the funds.

Jealous of your revolvers in any case.

I picked up a bunch from OGC recently for maybe 5 cents a pop.  I run them in my 22 conversion as well (Tactical Solutions G17) and aside from them being disgustingly filthy, they're relatively hot rounds and cycle well.  The brass plating on the bullets flakes off while they're being shipped/stored in bulk so I usually give them a quick wipedown and repackage them in the CCI plastic boxes so they dont gunk up my mags and dirty the chamber more than they already do.

After a couple hundred rounds of golden bullets, I'll start to notice how grimy and crunchy the slide gets from all the debris so I tend to limit these to around 100 per range session.

I too am jealous of your two .22 revolvers. I only have one.  :'( :'( :'(

I am jealous of Stang's entire revolver collection.     There is just something about revolvers and shooting them that brings me much more pleasure than semis. Just a personal thing I suppose as I know I am outnumbered here.

I think that .22 LR ammo is still making a comeback. You still cannot just walk into Prime Sports, SEC, YG, WGS, HGS, KGS, OGC, J Haras and buy a case of CCI SV (based on my last visits to these stores). I have been on SEC's list for CCI SV for a couple of years now and they have yet to call. But I did finally find a case for sale at the right price and snatched it up. Should last me 2-3 years as I still have a small batch from my last case. You can't just walk in and find Blazers either which is another quite popular choice here. And YG's, last time I went in there, was still limiting the number of boxes of .22 LR ammo you can purchase per day/visit. The most prevalent .22 LR ammo is Remington Golden Bullets and Thunderbolts and Winchester bulk boxes. You can pretty much find the Winchester almost anywhere, but I have not seen the Remington GB's for quite some time. Maybe because the LGS are not ordering it? Not sure. I know that SEC and WGS do a good job of trying to keep a good assortment of .22 LR ammo in stock. I find that WGS prices are still too high for my pake taste. But SEC has removed the limitations of the number of boxes you can purchase (based on the last time I was in there). And OGC brings in pallets of ammo and sells them off at good (for us) prices. While I don't recommend either the Winchester bulk and Remington GB's and T-Bolts there is a place in our market for them. Some people just want the cheapest .22 LR they can find for plinking and whatever.

As I was typing the above, OGC just tweeted a case of Remington Thunderbolts for $250. That is $25 a brick. While it is still expensive by pre Obama years prices it is probably as cheap as you are going to find for a while until .22 LR fills the shelves and the LGS have to discount them in order to get rid of them.
