The rankings of the 50 states by "Fiscal Condition" was released today. Following the lead of Donohue at Stanford claiming (using "synthetic models") that CCW causes an increase in crime, I'm going to venture that 1. the greater the percentage of a state's population ("per capita") that carry firearms/have CCW licenses/permits, and 2. The less restrictive the state laws are regarding gun ownership (i.e. no restrictions on "assault weapons", "high capacity magazines", "assault pistols", "registration", "waiting periods", "permits to acquire", etc., etc.) The BETTER will be the state's fiscal condition. Conversely, the more restrictive the gun laws re ownership and carry, the more likely a state is to have a poor fiscal condition. Therefore, ahem, "good/freedom of choice" gun laws CAUSE states to have a good fiscal condition, and "bad/restrictive" gun laws CAUSE states to have a bad fiscal condition. Look at the top five and bottom five lists below, it's OBVIOUS.
Since Hawaii is currently ranked 27th, the best and fastest and surest way to improve the fiscal condition of the state is to repeal all the
irrational idiotic absurd nonsense useless ineffective-as-crime-deterrent current restrictive gun laws on the books and to immediately institute "permitless/Constitutional carry" (or maybe just "shall issue" open and concealed carry).
P.S. This study, like Donohue's, currently remains "unpublished".
I'm sending this to Ige right now so he can have Chin write the proposed law(s), call a special session of the legislature to pass it (them), and get this damn sucking economy going here in Hawaii!
