It's a business. They market their product in the way they think will most likely increase their income (i.e. "get clicks"). In this case by appealing to the largest possible segment of our culture, many of whom apparently need or want their "information" to be provided for them in an easy digestible one minute visual and musical presentation rather than reading details for 2 or 5 or 10 minutes, or heaven forbid, an even longer written article with large amounts of supporting details.

Good theory. Just one problem....
That was a 2 minute video or longer if you count the pre-show advertising.
I counted maybe 8 complete sentences of text.
I could have read those 8 sentences in perhaps 30 seconds.
So it's not saving me time.

Is web income dependent on dwell/duration time too? Or is it just the number of clicks?
