We all know how the advocates of civilian disarmament use the "commonsense gun safety regulations" meme to attempt to incrementally impose their agenda on law-abiding citizens. Here is the example of how one of the "strategies", requiring that only "smart guns" be allowed to be owned by citizens (cops, as usual, would be exempted from this requirement), is, of course, the (really bad) joke that we all know it to be. You gotta love the response from Armatix: "Yeah, we knew that, the next generation will be better than defeated with a magnet (among other things)."

In the first place, relying on electronics and batteries to shoot a gun is just a bad idea.

They'd have to adjust the law so that bad guys are required to wait for you to change the batteries before they resume an assault on their intended victim.  The law is handy that way.

Interesting theory (on paper), but horrible once made.  What if said hand with watch is not functional and you need to use support hand to shoot?
