Took me a while to find this from the original article against building the  Pu'u Anahulu range, by some "Hawaiian" (at least he asserts to speak for Hawaii) about how the resort and condo people of South Koahal (Waikoloa) feel about a range and the  tourism it might bring:

"South Kohala resident Mel Malinowski said a shooting range that will host shooting tournaments and competitions will attract hundreds of gun enthusiasts from the mainland, creating an atmosphere that isn’t what Hawaii is all about.

“This is not the kind of tourism we should be going for,” Malinowski said. “The people in South Kohala don’t want it.”

Malinowski is worried about “some drunk guy from Missouri” packing heat and wandering around the area resorts."

Pretty bigoted, if i may say so.  Only guys from Missouri get blasted in Hawaii? 

Hmmm, Mel Malinowsky sounds far more NYC that Hawaii......................but he pretends to speak for Hawaii?

I'm sure MALINOWSKI represents South Kohala just fine.

It is funny how often they cannot support their arguments. I am going back and forth with one guy right now who has a selective reading of the 2nd amendment.
