Well I was just saying, I don't think the M14 is a good option for the standard infantry. In other words I don't think the M14 will stand a chance in replacing the M4/M16 in this century as the standard issue rifle.
If I recall correctly, the M14 (or variant) was used as a DMR during that time, and still being used in limited numbers but primarily for designated marksmen.

How about a SCAR heavy?  Or the Colt (whatever is the one that can be configured to .308)? 

Other options for .308. 

I haven't played in the sandbox, but I've shot the SCAR heavy, FAL and other battle rifles.  To ME, .308 seems quite heavy, but I think adding .308 into the mix wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

Like hell my local gun shops will have some on the shelves. I guess I'll have them special ordered when I have a chance if they can find any. I've watched a few videos, like the Wound Channel on youtube.

Would be nice if they adopted a hybrid muzzle device for the M4.

Why don't they just have two? Bigger guys get issued and trained for bigger rounds...seems to make sense in everything except logistics. Just like in ancient times you had varying weapons for varying people. I understand the reality of possibly having to use another person's ammo in a bad situation, but I would be curious as to how often that actually happens.

Arms issued are based on MTOE and not arbitrary.
