simple solution to this is just give up your belongings and hope they are caught later. No CCW issues. No self-defense issues. In fact, it was stated in that article. So there you go people of Hawaii the answer to criminals is right there.

Yeah, that's the "simple" solution alright. Just hope that after you give them your stuff they don't decide to beat or rape you just for fun (more likely somewhere other than inside a mall). Ironically (well, not really), the evidence is the opposite of what the cops advise: the more resistance people put up, the less seriously victims are injured, if injured at all. And the best "resistance" (with the resuslting fewest and slightest injuries) is to use a gun against a criminal (when one has reasonable fear of grievous bodily injury). All that crap about "They will take your gun away and use it against you" is lies. Not that the civilian disarmament advocates have any qualms about lying in pursuit of their agenda.

I liked this line: '“We take several proactive security measures, including maintaining a continuous security patrol of our mall and surrounding parking lots.”" They forgot to add: "And you can see from this story of multiple persons being robbed just how effective those security measures are."

   proactive security measures, security patrols. What a joke! Take a look at most of the personnel who are  the "security". They provide as much security as a rubber with a hole in it. They'd run ( probably did), piss their pants or shit their pants and all pile into their golf carts trying to get away from there. I wouldn't blame them either. Get seriously injured or worse killed for $15 an hour? I'd make the flash look like he's stuck in mud and would stop in Lanai City!  :shake:
