‘‘Among the many misdeeds of the British rule in India, history will look upon the act of depriving a whole nation of arms, as the blackest.’’

Gun culture all over the world seems to share a common characteristic - it's mainly a power-wielding game for men. To own a gun is no longer about fending off angst but showing off. In regions that are known for anarchy and unrest the gun culture has destabilised their society furthermore. Conflicts with neighbouring families or clans over land and cattle are settled by the principle - "the survival of the strongest". In the absence of a functioning judiciary lynch law prevails and a generation of young people grown up in violence. Yet in India and many Western countries the gun culture is mainly nurtured by a bunch of paranoid and narcissistic machos.

Muahahahaha I was waiting for these types of comments on the article.

^ I didn't see any comments --did they erase them or something?

I understand that there's an ongoing long-term problem with big cats attacking humans in India.  What I could dig up real quick:

http://animal.discovery.com/videos/untamed-and-uncut-tiger-attacks-indian-village.html

Sems to me that's reason enough to loosen up their restrictions.

I do believe that the radical and crazy notion that the Founders meant what they said, is gradually soaking through the judicial system.
