While I believe the take down model that best fits the BOB take it with you is one that is SS with synthetic stock and carbine barrel. In other words, just as it is right now. But I know everyone wants to mod their 10/22's so I have decided I want one with a walnut stock:

I think it looks pretty nice!!!

Hahahahahahahahaha!  That guy had plenty people fooled, yeah?!?

He did a good job on mod'ing that wood stock himself!

I wonder if the wood stock is heavier than the synthetic, and if so, how much heavier it is... still real nice nice!

Just by holding it, I can tell that the bull barrel is going to add some additional weight to the 10/22 TD.

I would imagine that the Hogue Overmolded Nylon stock is heavier than the stock the 10/22 TD comes with, but not sure.

When all is said and done, I might actually end up with a 10/22 TD that is A LOT heavier than the original.  :(
That was pretty funny. The sticker looks good on the stock as well!

What I liked about what he did is that he used a regular wood stock to do it. It actually looks pretty simple. And the beauty of it all is it won't cost much to try and find out if one likes it or not.

Weight is relative to your ability to carry it as far and as often as you need. For me the take down will need to be as light as possible.

BTW, my friend purchased one and put a BSA Sweet 22 scope on it and that thing is a real shooter. Very accurate. I believe more so than a stock 10/22.

Thanks JMB!!! For an inexpensive stock (Relatively speaking) it is a nice stock. I like the way it looks and it fits nice with the adjustable buttstock. I still have not had much of a chance to shoot it. I have only performed a basic sight in with it. I am looking forward to stretching it out a bit and seeing what it can do at distance. If you are looking for a good stock at a good price that looks kewl you will probably like this.

Very nice, bruddah Inspector!!

My Hogue stock came in this weekend, but I guess I have to wait until X-Ring reopens(?) in February. :(
Hey New Guy,

I was looking at the Hogue stock for my 10/22 as well. Try call Brian at 368-5263 and see if he'll let you pick it up before February.

Mahaloz, bruddah Inspector... I should have been more clear... so sorry, yeah?

I meant to say my hogue nylon stock came in via USPS (called around and the LGSs only had the rubber kine!)

BTW, if you don't mind me asking, what did you do (if anything) to your 10/22? Extractor? Buffer Tube? Trigger group? Extended mag release? I like the charging handle, too!!

 :shaka:
So where are the pictures? Gotta see the 10/22 in its new kine clothes!

The barrel, buffer, charging handle, and extended mag release is Kidd Innovations. The trigger is the Kidd trigger job trigger which fits into the existing Ruger plastic trigger enclosure. Its about half the price of their trigger group. The bolt, extractor, etc. and receiver are al stock Ruger.

Whoa... Kidd accessories AND barrel?  I'm all shame now with my crappy Green Mountain barrel!!

Sadly, I won't be able to post many pics until I can get some assistance with cutting and modding the stock, and modifying the 10/22 TD receiver and GM barrel to fit.

Will keep everyone posted, but in the meantime I'm just glad to have a 10/22... Prices on .22 ammo makes things waaaaaaaaay easier to deal with!!

Now to get a semi or revolver in .22lr... Any suggestions??  :D
Not sure why you have to mod the receiver for a GM barrel to fit? I thought they were drop in replacements?

For a .22 semi or revolver my first question is plinking or serious target shooting?

If plinking I would recommend for a semi the new Ruger or any of the Ruger line with slim barrels, Browning w/slim barrel, Walther. For a revolver I would go with a Smith and Wesson 617 (Also can be used for serious target shooting), Ruger Single 6, Taurus. For serious target I would consider Ruger w/Bull Barrel, Browning w/Bull Barrel, and Smith and Wesson semis. Not sure of too many serious target revolvers any more except maybe the S&W 617 mentioned above. I am probably not remembering a few.

Looks too much like an assault rifle. Give it to me so you don't get caught with it!

The 25 round mags are pretty kewl looking on a stock 10/22.

Here's mine! Got this gun from my brother that was stored in the closet for 18 years!  Can't wait to take her out to koko head rifle range! This 10 22  has a Clark bull barrel on it and all the good stuff in it. Ring and scope is on order. Will post more pictures once the scope is mounted. Thanks for looking!  :shaka:
