Was in the market for a Trijicon MRO and was about to inherit a friend's used one but he had damaged the lens through his own recklessness. A quick Google search caught my attention for any possible online retailers that would be able to ship out this week to me.
Low and behold found "Optics Agent". However, I had a lot of reservations as I couldnt find any reviews on this company and less than a handful of positive reviews were found via various online forums and message boards but still nothing widespread. The price surprised but had be skeptical as the MRO I wanted with a basic Trijicon lower 1/3rd mount usually is found to be between 530-544 at some of the more well-known online retailers WITHOUT shipping fees. At Optics Agent, it was 470.88 and even with expedited UPS 2-Day to Hawaii it was 523.00 total.
As far as I could research, Optics Agent claims to work with a wholesale distributor of sporting goods. I called Trijicon and their customer service rep couldnt find any information on "Optics Agent" as one of their dealers, however the rep did say that these sort of companies would NOT be listed if they are indeed working with one of their legitimate dealers. Unfortunately Optics Agent doesnt disclose who they are working with. I called Optics Agent's customer service number to get a feel for this company and was immediately directed to a voicemail message stating to leave a message - a red flag? Actually probably not because I did receive a phone call from "Dan" at Optics Agent less than 15 minutes later. He sounded competent and courteous. I just played "dumb" asking basic info on the product I wanted and left it at that. So using PayPal's Pay Later option, I purchased it and prepared myself to potentially file a dispute if needed in the worst case scenario.
Optics Agent says their products ship the next business day for in stock items and each item page does state the availability.
So I ordered, got email confirmation immediately and sure enough the next business day I got my UPS 2-Day shipping tracking info with it.
NOW... the only thing is to see if its a authentic Trijicon product when it arrives tomorrow (Thurs 09/28/2017).
HOWEVER... I realized on their "My Account" section, it reveals the physical address of where my MRO shipped from. Optics Agent is based in Maryland, but my package shipped from 15155 23rd Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55447 and low and behold that belongs to Bill Hicks and Company, LTD. Great... "Bill Hicks"?!?!?! LOL... BUT!!!!! A quick dealer database search on Trijicon's official website CONFIRMS Bill Hicks and Co, LTD - specifically this one located in Minnesota is indeed one of their dealers.
So... Optics Agent? LEGITIMATE FYI.
So now Im 90% sure the MRO I'll receive tomorrow will be an authentic Trijicon product.
