Police Chief finalists, ask about CCW and gun rights
« on: September 28, 2017, 03:21:07 PM »
The search for the next HPD chief is narrowed down to 7 finalists.  I saw the SA article stating "Sword said he hopes a final selection can be made by the end of October. The public can email testimony to policecommission@honolulu.gov."  Lets send some testimony asking for gun rights and CCW.  I'm not sure where every candidate's stance is on 2a, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Texas Police Department Slammed For Destroying Police Brutality Documentation
"Haning’s lawyer, however, has come forward with evidence that apparently shows Deputy Chief James Lowery ordered Lieutenant Michael Moses–who is just above Haning in the so-called chain of command– to “get rid of it."

Officer alleges some police recruit tests were fixed

"In the lawsuit, Koanui alleged that her supervisor, Maj. Susan Ballard, later “ordered that the recruit test results be shredded, thereby destroying evidence that would have corroborated that the test scores had been changed under her command.”

Just clarifying, I wasn't looking at anyone in particular unless they are progun.  Testimony would say to ask or pick someone that will respect gun rights and issue CCWs.

Ahh, I don't think that will happen.

a fantasy, i know, but wouldn't it be something if the new police chief decides to start issuing ccws to people who qualify?  I can see the hawaii old guard lawmakers and residents going berzerk.    Hawaii is the most backwards state in the US, all other states that are also "may issue" have issued at least some permits to the unwashed masses.

The best chance of hawaii seeing any sort of carry law is a supreme court ccw ruling, but that doesn't seem likely in the near future, as the supreme court didn't pick up any 2A cases for the next session.

-----------

I'd honestly go for the mainland candidates, perhaps they are corrupt, but is that anything new?  At least the TX and PA candidates are from open carry states, and there's a slight chance (fantasy) that they may buck the hawaii old guard.  Whereas if you put in any of these HI LEOs in, and it's guaranfuckingteed that they will maintain the status quo.

Any candidate who would say they are pro CCW and 2A would not be selected.  I would bet my life on that.

The messed up thing is the commission cannot even agree on how to proceed in the selection. They had a mainland consulting firm Come in to help. Lol its a joke
One commissioner even quit. But yeah the selection is gonna be so skewed and I agree that someone pro gun openly will not be selected the new chief will have to fit in the designated box dimensions.

I thought there were no female candidates that's why 1 person (female) resigned from the commission.  She's playing the sex card.

I'm hoping for the TX guy.  Guarantee he's pro 2A.  Maybe he will fight for our constitutional right?

He will be a city employee, he will fight for what the city tells him to fight for and in Hawaii thats worse gun laws.

Many Texas areas have been overrun by refugees from places such as Cali, especially the metropolitan areas. (funny cause they move there for the better business, tax, and economic climate, then proceed to screw it up just like they place the fled...)  I wouldn't bet on him being 2a, just for the fact he's from Texas.
