This is why I didnt bring any of my firearms with me when I moved here.  I knew if I registered them, they would be confiscated.  Also glad I didnt ;) bring any of my 80% tools with me.

Maybe one day the voters of this state will wake up and realize what kind of numbskulls they elected into office.

That's why when we elect lawmakers with ZERO life experience outside of their political careers these crimes will escalate:

let's look at "special" privileges afforded to these lawmakers who want to take away our right to defend ourselves. That should be the media campaign

We.should be concerned about it but it won't pass.  We have to be focused on the state ban coming up.

I feel for you guys with gun collections.  Just like Lt. Hahn, my guns got stolen and I did not bother to report it because the Hawaii Police Dept wouldn’t do anything about it anyway.  Just like macsak, I no longer own/have or possess any firearms, ammo or reloading components.

As someone fairly new to the gun world, it would devastate me if my few firearms were confiscated. I know the possibility of the bill passing isn't a sure shot but it seems like we are getting closer and closer to that scenario. I wonder what would happen if we refused to give up our firearms? Would they just throw us in jail?

Lost all my firearms in a boating accident.

I have always wondered whether an 80% lower when finished in Hawaii is a firearm or not.

"Firearm" means any weapon, for which the operating force is an explosive, including but not limited to pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, automatic firearms, noxious gas projectors, mortars, bombs, and cannon.

So. if you mill an 80% lower into a target shooting device and engrave it with "for target shooting only" its not a firearm, because it was never designed or made to be used as such.  Which IMO means no permit or registration needed. (#ImNotALawayer)

merriam-webster defines a weapon as :
1 :something (such as a club, knife, or gun) used to injure, defeat, or destroy
2 :a means of contending against another

(i could not find a legal feintion in and HRS, i may have over looked it tho)

"for target shooting only"
Then of course, there is the definition of what a target is, or is not.

No one here does anything illegal, of course.
