Sorry guys but I actually agree with the fininding, presented with the evidence (that he shot her from 80ft away and the bullet ricocheted before hiring her)they charged him with the wrong crime, they should have charged him with negligent homocide (murder or manslaughter chargers require that the act be intentional) if they couldn’t prove his act was intentional.

Agreed, the DA dropped the ball on the charges.  Neg homicide should have been the charge.  Maybe they knew murder would be acquitted so that's why they went that route.  Either way, he will be deported and come back for a 7th time.

But for Rodney King, similar thing.  They charged the cops with assault with a deadly weapon, but a baton was not defined as a deadly weapon.  So wrong charges.  But now a baton is defined as a deadly weapon.

From what (little) I read and heard about the details of the incident, I agree with London. I thought I heard even the prosecutor conceded that it was a ricochet, which led to conclusion of accident. Definitely see homocide.

That said, guy should never have been there in the first place. In a way, hope the outcome of this trial serves to highlight that.

Bottom line is a very beautiful woman died for no reason in front of her father due to an illegal immigrant who had been deported 5 times.

I agree on the findings based on the charges levied against the illegal immigrant.
However, this sets a precedence that a US citizen's life was less than that of an illegal person. It sends a message to countries that it's OK to kill a US citizen on our soil by someone who isn't supposed to be here.

I was listening to an explanation from one former prosecutor and it sounds like the prosecutor dropped the ball in a few places. They started with murder 2 then tried to bump it up to murder 1. From my limited understanding of the evidence it sounds like there was never enough evidence to win a murder charge. They should have aimed for manslaughter.

In some ways, I can see how there wasn't enough to convict him. I think the bigger travesty of justice in all of this was when they originally let him go when the federal agents wanted him. Maybe the dad can sue them for that choice.
