I'm adding a stainless endcap to a production casting rod. For best results, what is the correct height the reel seat should be at? It's 12' 20-40lb paired with a Penn Fth30. I was thinking OAL after install could be 12'6". For what its worth, I'm 5'7" Thanks eh...

are you planning to cut off the old reel seat and ad a new one?  if your adding a new one you can make it any height you want.  usually you measure with one had on the bottom of the butt cap and the other hand on the reel seat like your holding a reel, and you would extend your arm out so that your hand with the butt cap is in the middle of your chest and your other hand fully extended.  that works for most people.  but mostly you have to find what comfortable to you.  if your on Oahu you can stop by the store with the rod and I can help you set it up.  give me a call if you have any more questions.  737-7702
