Military 45 Ball Deconstructed

Just for future reference....

I was reorganizing my reloading bench and found this box of  45 ACP Ball ammunition.
It was given to me about 5 years ago by my friend who bought it at the gun show here.
It is Vietnam-era Federal ammunition. The box says 1963 but the ammo is 1961.
Headstamp is FC61.

Specs:

LOA=1.265
Mouth dia.= 0.468
Bullet= 232 gr. FMJ
Case=Brass with asphalt sealer and crimped primer
Powder 5.7 grains of some fine grain grey flattened ball.
Velocity=814 fps from a 5.5 inch Bar-Sto bbl.

1958 is new stuff. I got plenty of 1953 that needs to be deconstructed. They don't go bang.

That title sounds really, really painful!   :rofl:

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Haha but I'm going to divert this thread for a second now.
Last week I was reading the book MARINE SNIPER about Carlos Hathcock.
He described an unfortunate soldier captured by the VC and tortured by a particularly cruel woman dubbed the Apache.
You can guess the rest.

ive read that book before.  she was a sniper too, and specialized in capturing grunts and chopping off their privates, then setting him loose to run back to base, where they would die
