The damn gerbal wheel is starting to spin and tin foil calling to me to make another hat.

I find it hard to believe it is just 1 "button" that needs to be pressed to release any island wide text warning. I would think its a sequence that needs to be done.

I dont think the north has the tech to hit us, so could it have been a sub? But by which country?

People involved will start to "dissapear" soon for the cover up.

Don't expect any governor to know what "the button" means in technical terms.  We all know things are run by computer now.  The "button" is on a screen.  The operator was given a final check asking "Are you sure you wish to proceed" or similar.  He clicked the "button" with his mouse to confirm send.  He didn't realize he was sending live versus a test until the alert notified him on his own phone seconds after he hit the button.

Human error.  Not a big red button that he laid his backpack on.

Instead of a pop up message that asks if you're sure, it follows with a second pop up that asks if you're really, really sure.

Hawaii will ALWAYS remain a primary target, with or without a military presence.  To think otherwise would mean that someone is either completely ignorant on the topic, or stupid.

I think he has a lot more class than our local Democrats who railed on him despite our State's fault.

President Trump today said the federal government will get involved with the false alert investigation, but he also praised state officials on how they reacted to the blunder.

Their attitude and what they want to do, I think it’s terrific. They took responsibility. They made a mistake. Well, we hope it won’t happen again. He might be raw on Twitter and the like but he didn't take this opportunity to lambast how stupid our Democrat leaders are; unlike Tulsi. It was a perfect opportunity for a punch to the face - but he held back. I hope people see this as a good leadership trait.

Ever hear of terrorism?  Unarmed civilians get targeted by terrorists 90% of the time for the shock and awe factor.  It's not farfetched to consider a rogue element taking over the military of a nation, or a faction stealing mobile nukes.

A country like NK might not have a reasonable strategic objective -- Kim could just "snap" one night and decide to end the stalemate by targeting someplace that's less defended than the West Coast.  It demonstrates capability and resolve.

Today, the US is the only nation to have launched nukes against an enemy.  It's only a matter of time before someone tries to knock us off the top of the hill.  We always thought it would be Russia, but as more nations develop nukes, the list grows.
