This list was thrown together quickly... let me know in the legislative thread if I missed anything.  Still a work in progress.

Trigger mod ban is introduced. I definitely will be calling my reps and senators on this BS.

There's a bunch of new firearms related bills introduced yesterday.

- hunting apprenticeship
- opposition to national reciprocity
- court order to restrict firearm access to those who pose danger
- firearm surrender in 24 hour instead of 30 days
- trigger mod prohibitions
- electric gun ban repeals
- authorize county chiefs to issue ccw
- increase ammo capacity
- require firearm registration every 5 years
- permit to acquire pistol period from 10 days to 1 year
- shooting range protection
- ccw for corrections officers
- mental health and firearms (by Karl Rhoads)
- terrorist screening database and firearm seizure

Lots of activity from our elected officials this year!

Seeing how

I do not " lack good moral character or lack good moral cause to carry concealed handguns, have no history of domestic disturbances or mental health concerns, no felony stalking conviction, am not an abusive domestic partner and or subject to restraining orders, have been subjected to and passed a criminal history check and therefore have been determined not to be too dangerous or reckless to carry concealed firearms, have had safety training, firearm safety training (and CCW Training in addition to being legally licensed to train others for the application for non -resident CCW honored in 35 states), and that
"this body reiterates its support for common-sense gun legislation to keep guns out of dangerous hands, including standards that ensure people cannot legally carry guns concealed in Hawaii communities without proper safety training or if they pose a danger to the public"
I therefore fulfill all of the obligations, recommendations and restrictions required to be issued a State of Hawaii CCW License.

WTF!?

It means the permit to acquire for handguns would be valid for a year, just like long gun permits are now.

Current law says the permits expire within 10 days after they are ready for pickup.
