Money Bomb the NRA idea 3/24/2018
« on: February 25, 2018, 07:49:09 AM »
The anti-gunners are planning their "March for our Lives" on 03/24/18. I saw a Facebook post & other Pro2A sites of someone proposing a money bomb for the NRA on that day for us to fight back. The NRA has 5 million members, if everyone gave just $1 that would still be $5 million in one day. I'm putting myself down for $50. Who's with me? If your principles don't allow you to donate to the NRA, then donate to the GOA or whatever group of your choosing. However I would urge you to think about the fact that, whenever the SHTF, the NRA is the organization that the Left spends all its energy demonizing and smearing. They wouldn't expend all that effort if they didn't fear the crap of the NRA.

Gun owners need to work and have families, we don't have time to march like they do & the MSM would paint a picture demonizing anyone participating to support the 2A anyway. However, we can click through some money to our pro-gun organizations. What do you guys say? Spread the word. We can't afford to be complacent.

Well, they do take Paypal, as I hate entering in my CC info on websites.  $25 on Mar 24 it will be.

I'm a life NRA member.
I get enough junk mail from them I'll send something in before then.
Typically I donate to NRA-ILA.  The political victory fund is useless
here in Hawaii. so I ignore them.
If you are a voting member don't forget to vote and get it in by April 15, 2018.
As an aside;
I recently wrote United and Delta airlines explaining that I would no longer fly with them,
allow my family to fly with them,  would recommend that no one in my extended
family fly with them, and that I was going to increase my NRA donations
from here on out.

If you are already a member, and you want to upgrade your membership, go to:

https://www.nra2018.org/SignIn

Enter your NRA member ID, and it'll show what special pricing you are eligible for when upgrading.

I just upgraded last week to Life - Benefactor for $350.  I was Life - Patriot before.

Help me with this, what is being a NRA benefactor gain you?
I'd rather take the $350 and give it to NRA-ILA, GOA, or some other
useful function.  I did not upgrade to benefactor.

Each level is simply another way of tracking who gives more than the minimum.  Life is just life membership -- you don't have to contribute another dollar to maintain your NRA membership.

I've gone from basic LIFE to Endowment, Patron, and now Benefactor.  The only come-on is you get another free gift if you choose to receive it.

"Endowment, Patron and Benefactor members are eligible to vote in NRA elections, receive special recognition at NRA events, and are sent credentials including a certificate suitable for framing, a lapel pin, a decal, a patch, and a new membership card so you can proudly display your membership status."

I'm still waiting on the secret handshake video and special decoder ring ...   :geekdanc:

HRA Membership drive sounds like a much better idea. The attitude I get from a lot of mainland guys is like it's our fault that our rights got taken away and we started a federal registry, etc. To them this is lost looney liberal land and it increasingly feels like we are on our own.

I'm down.  I've melted a few snowflakes saying "thank you for reminding me to make my donation to the NRA"  They absolutely lose it, it's hilarious!

Maybe a donation could be tied in to the protests yes. For every protester that shows up you increase the amount you donate. Then you can let all the protesters know that the more of them show up the more money NRA gets.

I know 3 guys who signed up for the NRA membership who aren't even gun owners, but pro constitution/bill of rights.  Basically, F*** David Hogg and his friends attitude.

But since they signed up, they're really thinking about buying now.

How much money have you donated to ANY pro-gun organization in the last 10 years?

Or are you still "evaluating" which one is deserving of your measly little contribution?

I would point out that "Everytown" and the "Brady" group should be included in gun-related orgs..........

Come on man, no reason for that kind of verbiage or attack..... I donate as much as I can afford be it $1 or $100 we all try to do our share. Sure we all have our differences with each other but if we don’t stick together and support the cause whether it be with $$$, volunteer work, etc, our cause will fail and we’ll be shooting rubber band guns and slinging rocks with sling shots.... :shaka:

That's kind of his modus operandi. I wonder if in person he's actually a pretty cool guy. The internet tends to bring out the worst in some people. Don't ask me how I know.

Not attacking anyone.  Just asking a question.  He's been pontificating about joining an organization since he's been on the forum, and I have even seen him turn down a free membership.

His comments on what "we" should do to tie donations to protests is just more disingenuous false support for gun rights.

Words are cheap.  I just want to know if he's putting his money where his mouth keyboard is.
