VLTOR RE-47 (AK 47 Modstock Adapter) - Experiences?
« on: February 26, 2018, 12:42:57 PM »
Just ordered a VLTOR RE-47 for my stamped AK.  Anyone have experience with it?  It seems to have pretty good reviews.

I will likely put a B5 Bravo or other similar stock on it.  Maybe the MAGPUL MOE SL.

The goal is to eventually go with a SLR handguard and put a red dot, but that might be a little further down the road, since the handguard is a little pricey.

I see you've ordered it already but here's another adapter just in case you want to do pull ups with your AK.

The Cheek weld is going to be higher than the VLTOR though.

It's alright if there is a particular buttsock you wanted on your ask. I replaced mine with a magpul folder so if you are looking for one hit me up :shaka:

Thanks!

I looked into the Rifle Dynamics one, but elected to go with the VLTOR since it had extension. If I had another stamped AK, I might be tempted to try this one.

And I wanted the higher cheek weld, but think both the VLTOR and this would be what one looking for.

I’m most likely going with the B5. I like the sloped cheek section. I have the LMT SOPMOD and VLTOR Imod on most of my guns.

Good choice, the RD Adapter is rubbish.

I thought the Rifle Dynamics adapter was basically the same for the one in the video you posted.

No they're completely different.  The RD Adapter is in 2 pieces, 1 part screws onto the Upper Tang of the Rifle, The second part that holds the Buffer Tube is screwed onto that with 2 small screws that I could never tighten enough.  The first time I shot it I noticed it shifted, eventually sold it.

*note tiny screws...

The Definitive Arms Adapter is 1 piece that bolts through the rear trunnion, I'd expect the buffer Tube to fail way before the Adapter.

Ahh. Gotcha. Thanks!

The VLTOR came in over a week ago. Waiting on the SLR rail I want to come back in stock. Got the mount for the red dot on the way. So hopefully will be shooting the “updated” AK soon.
