2AHawaii PAC

Could we start a 2AHawaii PAC ?

I was talking to a friend about the revolver shoot on March 4th (check events if you don't know about it)
And he asked if he could donate to our PAC. I told him we don't have one.

He suggested starting one and focusing on voting out one anti-2A legislator.
Just as a show of strength.

Need to know where our voting base is and pick a ripe candidate.

Made a lot of sense to me.

I nominate Zipps, Heavies, PunaP, London and Mac to the the board of directors. JL808 too.

Is it plausible?

HRA has its own PAC.  Not advertised much.

Better to support and improve that one.

I ran a petition committee in Oregon.  Similar to a PAC to the state but just focuses on a recall petition.

In Oregon you had to keep very detailed financial records and report every expenditure and donation to the state within 48 hours. So much that I ended up hiring an accountant that was specialized for the process.
We also had to set up a formal business (business license, business bank account, federal tax forms and EIN)

It looks like this is the information for set up and rules for the committees.

London is a one man PAC.

It would be nice if HRA could focus on one candidate for us to campaign against, assuming the other candidate is a strong 2A supporter.

I respectfully disagree Zippz.

Can we make our own ?

Any realistic candidates to unseat?

No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Marx and Espero are the most anti-gun.  Even if they don't get unseated, they might take notice of opponents that got strong backing by the 2A community.

Yup.  Them and the Rep for my area, Scott Saiki.  He's the Speaker of the House, so while it might be quite a stretch, if he were to lose, folks would take notice.  Not holding my breath and I do email him from time to time, but have yet to get a response.

If you want to do this you can’t look at just tha main anti gun people. You need to look at those that won their seat by a slim margin and let them know that you can get enough votes for the other guy (even if he to is anti gun) to cost them their election unless they start voting down these BS laws.

Yeah, I agree.  Best to focus on where realistic chance to influence change.  I am hoping if you even "scare up" enough opposition, that at least some would wake up and take note.  Again, not holding my breath, but gotta start somewhere.

My previous post was sort of an "aim high" thought.  Wishful thinking. . .

I like Will Espero for going after HPD for the whole medical cannabis gun confiscation thing. Seems to me like he could be coaxed in our general direction, unlike some of the other capital fauna that go straight down the Party line no matter what.

Well, yeah, but he's a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Ask him.

Lol -- Slick Willie.  Out of his own mouth... he is very proud of rap back -- he said it's the first in the nation and we made history with it.
