Gentlemen, I have detected a teachable moment.  The student activists in Florida are displeased that they are required to use clear backpacks.  The lesson is that trading away rights for safety is all well and good until someone takes a right you care about.  Be careful what you ask for.  Enjoy!

I suspect that shortly we will be hearing these students justify their complaints by appealing to the 28th amendment: "A well-attired and accessorized population, being necessary to the well-being of the state, the right of high school students to keep and wear any backpack or accessory of their choosing shall not be infringed."

Since these students don't feel safe around guns, I propose they hire security guards armed with a nerf bat and a booklet of harsh language. Maybe I should start a security guard company like that.

I was listening to an organizer of one of the DC marches. The interviewer asked about target shooters. The kid said something along the lines of “kids are now targets”.... Putting all responsible shooters in with criminals. Same thing they don’t want when it comes to their irresponsible peers.

The news also made a big deal about CDC funding regarding studying of gun related deaths. How about gun deaths related to gang and other such violence as opposed to school shootings. I’d bet that the “gang and other” would far outnumber school shootings.

Last I checked, the CDC had some stats on the 33K gun deaths.  Over half were suicides.  Crimes: Under 4k by handgun, under 400 rifles (includes 72 from Vegas), and under 200 from shotguns.

Not sure, but I think the funding issue was about studies of the data. I thought they had data, but i recall the numbers being questionable since something about consistency of numbers reported since they were no “official” studies.

I also heard on the news this morning about a rally against a guy who was shot and killed in Sacramento. Something about him being black and was holding a cell phone that was likely mistaken for a handgun. Anyways, I thought about how prior to 2016, that would’ve been all over the news. Today, almost a side mention.

You're not allowed to talk about those because those are well over 70% (some estimate 90%) mostly criminal "people of color" in the "urban centers" that have been run by Democrat politicians for literally generations, so you'd be a "racist" to do so.

Let's face facts, merely requiring see through backpacks will not prevent students from bringing weapons in hidden in their clothing. The obvious solution is mandatory nudity or at minimum clear plastic see-through clothing. Let's see what the Hogg has to say about that. On top of that should be full body cavity searches upon entering school each day... who knows what some nut-job with evil intent may have stashed up there?
