I'm not proud of this but I checked out a baseball bat at recess
(We used to have recess and played games)
and used it to  attack an older bully, I ran him down and beat him.
I was chased down by teachers, they beat me, and kicked me out of school for a while.
This was third grade.
Nobody ever messed with me after that in that school.

Every school I was ever in
I had an escape plan.
I went to a lot of different schools.
I needed to plan, as most the
teachers were going to beat
me for doing something wrong.
That is something our kids miss
today, dealing with adversity.

Rocks can work against an attacker.  Better than nothing and it's free.

But this seems more like a tactic used in a poor 3rd world country.  Get some pepper gel, tazers, baseball bat, or something else.  Jeez.

It's all about making the kids feel safer because there's a bucket of rocks in the classroom. However, the next kid that throws something at another student will point to the bucket and say it's allowed. SMH...

The superintendent, who thought of the rock throwing idea, himself dumb as a bucket of rocks, apparently isn't ignorant enough to not retract his idiotic idea and put guns into his school for actual protection...

School District that Armed Students with Rocks Shifts to Good Guys with Guns

The Pennsylvania school district that faced a social media backlash over news that it armed students with rocks to fight off mass shooters now says it will be adding good guys with guns for protection.

Fox News reported the school district faced “public mockery” for the plan and is now announcing it will use good guys with guns to protect students.

Helsel lamented that he and his “last resort” strategy of throwing rocks made national headlines. [He was probably expecting a pat on the back and a pile of dough from Bloomberg...]

I guess one could think this could be effective since they stone people to death in some countries.  Maybe one positive is that school are "doing something" that would maybe deter attackers from trying something.  Not quite what I would think would be effective, but trying to keep an open mind.

Just like when I hear folks say that a knife wielding person who is acting aggressively didn't need to be shot since they didn't have a gun.  Ever see the reality of someone who was attacked with a knife?  Dayum!

The people in those countries that get stoned to death aren't wielding semi-auto rifles... nor any other weapon for that matter...
