KHSC rifle frame legs?

I gave my kid my rifle frame.

I am building another one. It's been a while.
About how much do I really have to shave the legs?
Quarter inch?
Half inch?

Based on how much wood planing I hear at the range when someone brings a homemade frame, I'd say half inch.

If you draw a circle on the end of the post that touches the 4 sides, then you can shape the corners to meet that line. You should also have a sharp knife with you the first time using a frame so you can make quick adjustments if it doesn't fit.  Some of the stand pipes are a little bent and need a little extra clearance.

Always go smaller for the bent pipes, you can always add shims from the prices of frames all over the floor

I just take a grinder and shave the corners off to round and  taper them about 3" up.

I used a 3/8 round bit with my router on the corners. 1/4” works too if you want a tighter fit.

Just whittle it. Old school.
And take a knife with you to the range so you can whip it out and whittle it a little down range if you have the need.  :D
