Shooting at Nashville wafflehouse

Sounds like another mental case shooting up a public place.  Fortunately a good samaritan helped to stop him and and seemed he wasn't trained with the rifle.

I would've thought there would have been a CCW carrier there since it was in Tennessee.  Gotta do something about the mental cases doing these shootings.

Police say a customer wrestled the rifle away from the gunman after he fatally shot four people

I'm sure this isn't the first time someone ran naked into a waffle house at 3am.  Just sans rifle.

A Secret Service agent says the suspect in a fatal Tennessee restaurant shooting who was arrested last July outside the White House complex had hoped to talk to President Donald Trump.

"Talk to Trump"

Yeah, right, sounds like another crazed leftist like most all of these shooters turn out to be.

So, given that this guy's rights to possess firearms were revoked, and he acquired firearms from a person who had the legal right to possess firearms (his father), what is the logical conclusion re firearms rights?

No one should be allowed to possess firearms, because either the legal possessor can "go crazy" (the vegan google/youtube attempted murderer, etc.) or some other crazy person can steal them and hurt people. The one, and only, logical solution is to ban firearms totally, perhaps even from agents of the state, as some of them have been known to engage in criminal activity.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Venezuela/Mexico/Cuba, the dream state of all right-thinking people.

Ban clothes, that way it is easy to see if someone is carrying a weapon.

I wonder what reason the Illinois police had for confiscating his guns?  Seems obvious after the fact.  However at the time it didn't seem they had any justified reason for taking the guns unless there's more to it than the unlawful entry charge.  He did have some delusions about Taylor Swift stalking him (who wouldn't want that?) in 2016 and made some statements about killing himself but it doesn't seem like that would prohibit his gun possession.

And another well deserved acknowledgement of the person that saved the day.

White House commends hero who stopped Waffle House shooting

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders commended the man widely credited with stopping the gunman mid-shooting by wrestling away the gun.

"I also want to commend the heroic actions of James Shaw Jr.," Sanders said, crediting him with saving lives.

She added that Trump "offers condolences to the victims and their families" and is "monitoring the ongoing situation."

She said the White House is in contact with the state and local officials.

It is Illinois, a state argueably worse than Hawaii as far as gun laws go.  When are they going to ban motor vehicles?
A van, yes I am blaming the inanimate object, killed 9 and injured 16 in Toronto on purpose.  The man driving tbe van had nothing to do with it.....just like guns.

He was arrested in a restricted area near the White House last Summer.

He was arrested for trespassing and being in a restricted area, and the FBI and the Secret Service
coordinated with local law enforcement to investigate Reinking and take away his guns, Matthew
Espenshade, Assistant Special Agent in Charge of FBI's Nashville office said Sunday.

On August 24, the Tazewell County Sheriff's Office seized four firearms and ammunition from
Reinking's apartment along with his state firearm owners identification, according to an incident
report. Officers released the firearms and ammo to Reinking's father, Jeffrey, the report states.

I'm sure all due process constitutional protections were followed to the letter and that he had a competent civil rights attorney representing him. Nothing at all like the EVROs etc. being passed all over the country (e.g. Hawaii?) where an ex parte hearing (the "defendant" is not even informed of the hearing, much less present, much less present with legal counsel) can strip a person of their right to keep and bear arms.  Pretty sure they're gonna have to close the "give the crazy's firearms to a relative" loophole after this fiasco.
