I could easily see Hogg having his own family SWATTED to get more press time and more sympathy.

to clarify, in the cbs news story link, he did not appear on camera. They talked to him on the phone.
The pictures were old footage.

It may have been a publicity stunt, but we'll never know for sure unless there is a thorough investigation which is unlikely.
