New to Hawaii, question about registration
« on: June 18, 2018, 03:56:53 PM »
Moving to Oahu in 3 weeks. Found the document I must fill out and turn in within 5 days of arrival. Couple questions?

-do I have to show proof of my arrival date on island? If so, what? Or no they don't care.

-mental health waiver.... what exactly am I authorizing them to do when I fill that Document out and turn it in?

-Planned on showing up with my bolt gun, lever gun and a pistol all unloaded, chamber flagged no AMMO present, inside a pelican case locked. From what I read I am good yeah? Show up with said documents, my 42$ and plan on sitting there all day

no need show proof of arrival
no need to do medical waiver unless you are applying for a new permit
just register guns and pay for rapback
say the magic words "out of state" as you pass the guns to the officers

Make sure you arrive at HPD well before 3:00.  If you aren't at the Firearms Section glass window by 3:00, you can't register out of state guns.

They have to run a check on the serial numbers to make sure the guns aren't being sought by law enforcement.  That check takes time.

Also, you can't park in front of HPD after 3:30 or risk getting towed.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
