Good times.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

to me, this was the most important thing about trump vs hills

if "it" won, the supremes would have been stacked way left for a generation

I agree. Looking at the ages of the current justices, Ginsburg and Breyer could leave any time. Gorsuch for Scalia would have gone differently.

As we are today, there are 5 conservatives and younger than 70. If Kennedy and Scalia were to have been replaces with liberals, that could probably last 2-3 generations.

Liberal judges Ginsberg and Breyer have both said they will not retire during a Trump administration.

After the 5-4 decision to uphold the President's authority to ban any country he wants from US immigration, Twitter was teeming with people bemoaning the Constitution (again).

This time, they want to change it to have age limits for Supreme Court Justices.

Wouldn't that be violating the Constitution via age discrimination? Only young judges would be appointed.

Elections have consequences.  It's called WINNING!!   :geekdanc:

Those choices are not always within their control.

Sickness, death, changes in personal circumstances, etc.

That is true, but they won't retire of their own free will.

Schumer's speech today called for putting off the nomination until Nov elections are over.

This isn't a Presidential election year. His only objective is to use the issue to drive voter turnout.  Trump will still make the nomination no matter when.

Leftists are also calling for a "bi-partisan" nominee.  This, from the people calling "us" Nazis and telling us to shove civility where the Sun don't shine.

I don't think so.....

I think he should nominate the youngest female conservative judge and see the left try and tear her apart
