because if Hillary won, she would consider "bipartisan" nominees and would wait until after the mid-term election to confirm

Kennedy would have died of a heart attack a week after Scalia, avoiding all this turmoil.

Those were pretty stupid objections though. There was no legal or important reason that a new justice can't be picked just before an election.

That doesn't stop 3/4 of Democrats on Twitter from posting the exact same words on every semi-relevant thread. And even more believe them to be true.

If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it.

So that makes them just as stupid as Republicans?

Yeah, stupid enough to win the Presidency and both chambers of Congress.

November isn't looking much better for Democrats, either.

There have been a rulings in which the conservative judges haven't been so conservative. Most recently in the decision about tracking you through your cell phone.

Yes, Trump's pick voted against keeping your cell phone location data private without a warrant.

What is your definition of "location data?"

How about a prudent reason to give the incoming president the opportunity to shape the country as they see fit?  And keep in mind, HRC was thought to be leading comfortably at that time.  So why rush and try to push something through?

The conservative judges should be thankful that HRC didn't win.  Saving money on additional life insurance premiums.

My choice of Thomas Hardiman is not one of the three finalists.  Anyone know the 2A views of of three front runners, Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge and Amy Coney Barrett?
