What Do You Do?
« on: July 07, 2018, 05:49:53 AM »
Passed by an old couple (Considering my age, they are much older) with signs for Will Espero over by Queens West. Normally, I just ignore those people who are pushing for candidates I refuse to vote for. This time I drove by and gave them the “thumbs down” sign and the look on the old lady’s face was one of amazement/confusion or whatever. I was half expecting them to flip me off in return.   Just wondering what other’s do when they drive by people with political signs?

I am just curious, what do the rest of you do when you drive by these people pushing a candidate that you refuse to vote for? What about when you drive by these people pushing a candidate you intend to vote for?

Really, was that so hard?

After all, when doing a drive-by you only have a few seconds to fire your shot.

I usually ignore them.  Sometimes Ill wave even if I dont like them for a little aloha.  I disagree with them but they are working hard, volunteering, and practicing their 1st amendment rights.  Things I admire.

I keep a few TRUMP yard signs in my truck to hold up when I pass sign holders.

I should order a bunch more to hand out.  They all seem to want one, seeing how fast they're running after me.

I stick finger and wave with my palm facing towards them, so they think I am just waving and supporting

Generally ignore them. However, I do notice if the candidate is out there with their sign wavers though. I see some on my way to work where it’s just the candidate and sometimes pretty early in the morning. I do appreciate that those likely still have full time jobs and are trying to enter politics, hopefully with honest intentions.

I pay a lot of attention to politics.
I think sign wavers are idiots regardless of party, as they aren't
going to change anyone's vote.
I ignore them, totally.
I once came across Ed Case who was on a street corner in Waimea( the big island one).
He tried to engage me in conversation, I just just stared down  at him( he is short), I didn't smile,
and didn't say a word.
When the light changed I walked on.
He was visibly agitated.
That is how politicians need to be treated.

I did feel sorry for the lady going against McDermott. She didn't have a chance but she stood next to Fort Weaver waving to us all by herself for about a month.

There was one woman who mounted a campaign against Sharon Har last election. She started the week before the election. She was running as a Republican. She didn’t stand a chance. Har is a very conservative Dem. And Har will always get my vote as long as she continues the way she is.

Opened the front door this morning and found a package of saimin in a baggy from Beth Fukumoto. Took a video of my dog eating the noodles and sent it to her campaign headquarters with a note that I’ll send them a video of the noodles once my pooch processed them. Told them they were not permitted on my property anymore nor can they place anything in my mailbox.
Yeah, I know they could care less but it sure made me good, :geekdanc:
