I used to go out twice a month, religiously. It was my Zen time. This was in addition to LIFE and HRA monthly events, which I don't consider "shooting," but would certainly count as "day spent at the range."
Now, I honestly have no idea how long ago my last trip was. I mean, I did just get back from two months of travelling, so that screws up any answer, but before that, I doubt I was going once a month.
What happened? No one thing. Burnout as an instructor. Over-attendance at club shoots such as HDF and HRA. Plus, I go thru cycles about my enthusiasms: rifle, shotgun, pistol. They pulled the steel targets from the rifle range as I was just getting into a rifle phase, which really took the wind out of my sails.
Elsewhere in my life, I've been getting back into independent filmmaking. Hawaii Filmmakers Collective is becoming more a part of my life. And there's only so much time for doing fun things

I did just kill my first pig, which may catalyze a change. And I did just bring home the family smokepole, which may initiate a new cycle. Hard to say.
I miss being at a bench, doing my own thing. I miss shooting with a buddy or two.
