Woman shot to death in McDonald’s drive-thru in Jacksonville

A woman is dead following a shooting in the drive-thru of the McDonald’s restaurant at 8590 Baymeadows
Road, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The woman was ordering when someone walked up and shot her, Sgt. Marc Musser said. Officers found her
in a silver Chrysler 300 sedan about 8:30 a.m. after being called to the scene. She had at least one gunshot
wound, apparently to the neck or head, and died at the hospital.

Witnesses told investigators the gunman was possibly in a white four-door sedan. No one else was injured in
the shooting, but police cordoned off half of the Baymeadows shopping center where the McDonald’s is located
as the investigation continued Friday morning.

Police do not know if the shooting was the result of road rage or if the victim knew the suspect. Police have a
vague description of the gunman from witnesses, possibly a heavy-set black male, Musser said.
